I had a very disappointing experience with this motorcycle academy.
I enrolled in a weekend class specifically because this school is one of the limited providers authorized by the Maryland MVA to issue the certificate that satisfies the riding test requirement for a motorcycle license. Because of the limited availability of these courses, students often plan their schedules weeks in advance.
On Friday evening, less than 12 hours before my scheduled 7:00 a.m. Saturday class, I received an email stating that I had not completed the required paperwork and would not be permitted to attend unless the forms were signed. I immediately responded explaining that I had completed all required enrollment documents except for a separate waiver granting the school permission to record me and use my image and likeness however they wished.
Rather than allowing me to participate without consenting to the media release, or even discussing alternatives, the school informed me later that same evening that my registration had been canceled and that I would be refunded.
Cancelling a student’s enrollment the night before an early morning class because they declined to sign a broad media release feels unreasonable and unprofessional, especially when students have arranged their schedules around a course that can be difficult to find and book. I would have appreciated clearer communication up front that consenting to the recording waiver was apparently a mandatory condition of attendance.
Based on my experience, prospective students should carefully review all enrollment documents and confirm whether signing any media or recording waivers is required before making plans around the course dates.

Just had the basic rider course at Mosites East in North Versailles, PA. What a positive experience! Sasha was our rider coach and she was absolutely amazing! We learned so much and felt comfortable on the bikes and her coaching skills made all the difference. Highly recommend!!!

My 16 y/o son, who is still working on getting his MD car driver's license, took the Basic Rider Course from Motorcycle Safety Academy. The April 20-21, 2024 course was held off Mountain Road in Joppatown, MD in a church parking lot. He used to race bicycle cyclocross.
I have been riding for 40 years and was very impressed with the instructor Patrick. The waiver / prereq coordinator Tea S. was instrumental in doc prep coordination.
There were 8 students riding small Honda Rebels which had low seats, engine guards, and removed signals and mirrors.
One student was an experienced hotdog. Six rode similarly well. One dropped the bike, bombed the quick stop multiple times, and, appropriately did not pass. He wasn't able to follow instructions.
The instructor was very good about setting up and running the class and coaching improvements pleasantly.
The 20' U-turn used for testing had a slight uphill grade, and many people put a foot down.
The students got in lots of hours riding, often with 4 on the large course at a time.
Before the second day, I gave my son extra practice on a Z400 elsewhere to practice riding slowly with the clutch partially engaged while revving the engine. One day 1, he was stalling the bike more than other students. I also taught him to turn his head and look at the exit of the u-turn upon entry.
It was a pleasant 50 degree day. I didn't want my son to take it on a 90 degree summer day, like I did for an advanced class.
He brought food and drink for during course layout changes.
Thanks. I would not hesitate to recommend this class.

This is a good way to receive your motorcycle license. They give you an e-course to complete before the class that teaches you the basics of motorcycle operation. The two days of classroom instruction build on the basics you learned in the e-course and we were let out earlier than planned both days. The riding course was well paced. My only complaint is the instructors have very different teaching styles--some are more strict than others. Some instructors will allow you to practice longer and others will cut the lessons short. This is my reasoning for 4 stars. The instructors should be giving the same class regardless of who is instructing and the riding course should be adapted to the students skill level (i.e. allowing the same amount of practice for each exercise). If you do fail the license test, you are allowed to come back and retake the test FOR FREE once (both the written and riding). They also allow additional practice (~$40 per practice session) to prepare for the retake riding test. Definitely recommend this place to get your license as opposed to going directly to the MVA and they are cheaper than other MSF courses in the area.

Unless you already know how to ride a motorcycle, AVOID THIS PLACE.
Bikes were kept in horrible condition (e.g. finicky clutches, shift levers, smoking bikes), instructors were impatient and extremely unprofessional, and served more as supervisors as people basically tried to teach themselves. If you didn't learn at the pace they wanted, they would berate you and would pull you from the class "as a hazard," which was allowed via their waiver.
Your money would be better served paying a stranger to borrow their bike.

Really horrible, save your money, they really don't care to be honest. If someone doesn't undertaand or needs help you're supposed to help them and this place doesn't do that

Paid for the class on may 5th 2017 - then couldn't attend the class so I followed their instructions from their website to start the process for a refund. It's now may 15 and after sending them a letter with the original receipt, 3 additional emails and numerous calls- I've still yet to hear anything from them regarding my refund. Horrible experience with motorcycle safety academy- do yourself a favor and go with Harley Davidson or some other motorcycle training business. HORRIBLE

A lot of repeated information from the online potions that could all be done in one day. Personally it depends on the instructors you get for the class for any success. But I would recommend another organization for learning how to ride a motorcycle.

The two days of classroom instruction build on the basics you learned in the e-course and we were let out earlier than planned both days. The riding course was well paced. My only complaint is the instructors have very different teaching styles--some are more strict than others. Some instructors will allow you to practice longer and others will cut the lessons short. Bikes were kept in horrible condition (e.g. finicky clutches, shift levers, smoking bikes), instructors were impatient and extremely unprofessional, and served more as supervisors as people basically tried to teach themselves.
