This may or may not be fair, but as an observer, i. e. being stuck behind one of Greg's students, he isn't doing a great job teaching driving courtesy. Courteous drivers don't hang out in the left lane going under the speed limit. Safe drivers notice the vehicles around them and make adjustments: you don't get in front of a semi and slam on your breaks; don't putter up hills in front of someone hauling a trailer and dear god, don't ride your breaks down the hills when you have someone hauling a trailer behind you. If you're too nervous to manage that, the take the opportunity to let the vehicle pass because you don't want to be in front of them when their breaks fail.

Don't teach kids it's okay to camp in the left lane going 10mph under. It's not safe! If the instructor isn't going to instruct them to get right, they clearly shouldn't be teaching.
Let me explain why: slower traffic is to be in the right lane. If you're going slow in the left (passing) lane, people will try to pass you... Even if there is barely a car's length between the slow driver in the left and right lane.
The kid (or any slow driver for that matter), might get scared and react unexpectedly (brake hard, steer off the road, etc.). If someone behind them isn't expecting it, they might hit the slow driver.
Face it, not everyone is going to be patient with student drivers. Especially in Maryland.
As for another comment, if a kid ILLEGALLY swerved in front of another car, that could cause an accident!! Which could result in serious injuries. Read Less
