Writing this on behalf of our son who had a wonderful experience with John H. His understanding of our son's particular needs along with his calm demeanor and patience were so important in helping him develop his skills and confidence in preparation for getting his license. John was also very accommodating and flexible in scheduling and listened and communicated well regarding our concerns and observations. The lessons are not inexpensive, but they are a worthwhile investment, which is important to understand when looking at the cost. We never felt pressured to have more lessons than we thought we needed. Our son passed his road test and ADP and John in particular were great partners in helping him reach this milestone.

John has been a wonderful instructor for my son. I do not know what I would have done without his patience and understanding of my sons abilities. Well worth the time invested. My son returns home confident in his skills! John dedicates whatever time is necessary in preparing his students!

I contacted Adaptive Driving and fortunately John Holcomb became my driving Mentor.
I can truly say I looked forward to our driving lessons. I very much enjoyed speaking with John and requested his critique of each of my driving episodes.
I had been driving for 55 years since 1964 when I got my first license at age 16.
I developed Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy and lost much of the feeling in my feet. The condition does not allow for driving in the conventional manner with accelerator and brake pedals.
John Holcomb worked with me with weekly lessons starting I believe in late August of this year. I just received my new Drivers License November 26th.
I strongly recommend John Holcomb and The Adaptive Driving Program for anyone having a condition which no longer allows you to operate a motor vehicle in the conventional manner
Learning to drive with hand controls allows you to continue to be independent in your traveling.
I love driving, I always have. I worked my way through college working at an auto body shop where we fixed police cars, fire engines and bulldozers. I got to drive many different types of vehicles, a real treat for a young guy back in the 60’s.

Our son, age 21, was diagnosed with Asperger's as a preschooler. When he was ready to lean to drive, it was with trepidation on both his part and ours, his parents. We knew there were areas he would struggle with and that he needed a teacher with patience, understanding, compassion, and experience. We found all those qualities in John. He established a terrific rapport with our son, who learned to trust John and ultimately himself. John never rushed him, was always supportive, and was willing to meet him either at home or at his Newton campus. Our son passed his test on the first try; he is extremely safe and cautious, and is now on his way to becoming a confident driver.

Took a while to get scheduling worked out, but it was totally worth it in the end. If you have either a learning disorder or a disability that affects driving, this is definitely the place for you.

Adaptive Driving Program in Dedham is an incredible resource. Our daughter, who suffered a stroke when she was born, was determined to learn how to drive despite her disabilities. Her instructor John was patient, kind and extremely supportive throughout the process. He never made her feel anxious or discouraged. He worked around her schedule and always made time to come in and chat with us about how her lessons were going. His compassion and dedication played a major role in her passing her road test on the first try! We highly recommend John and Adaptive Driving Program!

Adaptive Driving Program in Dedham is an incredible resource. Our daughter, who suffered a stroke when she was born, was determined to learn how to drive despite her disabilities. Her instructor John was patient, kind and extremely supportive throughout the process. He never made her feel anxious or discouraged.
