I would not recommend J & J Driving School Inc for CDL training. In my experience, the environment felt unprofessional, communication was poor, and I didn’t feel supported as a student. The CDL success/preparation rate seemed very low compared to what I expected, and I left feeling like students were not being properly set up to pass. I also personally felt uncomfortable with the way certain students were treated. Overall, I would suggest researching other CDL schools before enrolling. Read Less

This review is for the CDL school only: They told my case manager at Masshire I had a testing date 2 business days prior to the test after claiming that they couldn't contact me on a number I've had for over 16 years. The testing date was on a holiday. I had to cancel for health reasons, and nobody was in the office, nor did they respond to my emails. They have so far as I can tell counted one of my testing dates as consumed, even though I tried to get it canceled or moved to another date. Still no response to my calls or emails. They use 1 truck a day for your classes in the yard for manuevers, and that has to be shared with however many people are in your class. They also operate a bus company out of the lot so they don't use all of your hours of yard class time for manuevers. You get a week of road practice, but once again, 1 truck spread around for however many people are in your class. If you already know how to drive a truck and just need a school for the ELDT they have slightly better trucks than Amaral's and might be a good choice for you to just get it done so you can get your CDL. If you actually need to be taught how to drive a semi; the teaching style is kind of brutal with a lot of high volume verbal instruction so you might have some issues absorbing/retaining information if your fight or flight response is being consistently engaged. The owner is kind of hands off, and intimidating to speak to which contrasts with a lot of the other schools around. There were a lot of homophobic, and some racist comments and jokes being made throughout my class time here so if you're LGBTQIA+ you might not feel safe in this space. Read Less

Daniella, the owner - took my call last week on Wednesday - she said we could start a Class B CdL course with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement on Monday Showed up today, went through day 1 - tried to pay with my credit card and they said it had to be a check. Will bring in tomorrow. Owner offered to pay for my CDL with 1 year of service offered - I considered but said I couldn’t commit as I’m launching a new business. Was told to go to RMV and buy my manual. While at DMV she calls and said we now don’t have time to do the course! Would you trust this lady with your kids driving school buses if she lies and misleads people? What kind of role model is she?! You can’t lie to people and tell them that you’ll take them and then not! The attorney general will be called and I’ll be talking to my lawyer for damages! Read Less

Being a Honorable USMC veteran I have dealt with a lot situations and people. This is a horrible business and customer service is just as bad. After booking a class and paying money in advance. I called just to make sure the class was still happening because of a storm coming. No one knew what the hell was going on. I felt like ibwas getting the old reach around. I was told that I need to check their web for closings and I would be called back. So I need to pay and make th effort to see if they're conducting business with my money. I showed up for my class and no one was there. Took off work and drove a hour distance to a class paid for and no one called or showed up. Called the owner and after talking with him, I can understand the poor ratings and customer service. Direct reflection of leadership and do not recommend this school for anything. A waste of time and money..... Read Less

Called to get a consultation, was told that I needed to schedule an appointment, no problem. While scheduling the appointment it came across that the consultation was one on one, so I asked if it could be done by phone, you know to save gas, time, energy. The receptionist told me that it was required that I be there physically, I asked "why". She asked me o hold while she transferred me to someone who could explain the policies. A guy picked up the phone and screamed "YOU DON'T HAVE TO COME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO, THAT'S OUR POLICY, YOU DON'T QUESTION OUR POLICIES, EITHER YOU COME OR NOT!"... and then hung the phone up in my face. This place shouldn't be in business if this is how they treat potential customers! Read Less
