Dean is an amazing and exemplary instructor. I was a relatively older student (22 years old) with zero prior driving experience, and Dean helped me to improve my skills quickly over the course of two weeks. He was quick to identify my issues and taught me the right skills and maneuvers in a way that suit me well. He is kind, patient, and straightforward throughout the process aimed at doing his best to help me to improve. In addition, he pays attention to my ways of thinking through occasional small talks, and taught me how to follow my own pace, relax, and think less as we progressed through the sessions. Best of all, he is very flexible and accommodating more than most other schools in this area. I had to cancel last minute once and wanted to schedule a lesson last minute another time, and he was able to accommodate both with understanding and at no additional charge. Go in with an open mind and focus on trying your best to learn and you’ll get a lot in return. I passed my road test easily after two weeks of lessons. And I’ve been making the same recommendation to my friends who are trying to get their licenses. One small piece of advice to students - make sure to take responsibility for your own future driving and ask questions about things you’ll need to know when you drive independently, such as how to turn on the wipers, headlights, hazard lights etc. as they may not come up if your lessons take place in nicer weather conditions. I had the best experience taking my test with them. The test was given to me by a lady, she was beyond kind, made me feel comftable and even took the time to give me advice after the test was done. The test was straight forward and the car they have for rent is new and easy to use. I can't recommend this place enough, if you have any doubts about going with this place I am here to reasure this is THE place to give your money to they are not out to just get your money. I completed segment 1 and 2 years ago when I was in high school but had some pretty over-the-top anxiety over driving for years, so I held off on getting my license. Setting up private driving courses with Ann Arbor Driving School was straightforward, and the classes were effective in getting me more comfortable behind the wheel. Suhail is an exemplary instructor, and gave useful driving tips that prepared me for the test while keeping me calm (probably the most impressive part). Took the road test and passed the first time, the examiner was very professional, encouraging, and didn't detract from my focus. I had a wonderful experience with the driving instructor and the road test examiner. The only reason I took out a star is because of the horrible car (Saturn) that I had to use for the test. First, paid full for 2h lessons: During my lesson, Suhail was on his phone the whole time. We made a couple of stops for his personal business. He often time spoke rudely over my mistakes and even yelled when I made a mistake on high way. He was not proactive giving instructions for my driving lessons. I forgave him and scheduled for another 2h lessons thinking that he might just had a bad morning this time. I made this excuse because of the good rating I saw on google about him. Second, scheduled for another 2h lessons which he changed into 1.25 h lesson on the day. During my lesson, he stopped at his laundry business, he made a call (talking about his bill), and a couple other excuses that put me in a waiting mode during my lesson. The first question the examiner asked was 'how many lessons did you take with my son?'. During the test, the woman shouted at my fiancé, and deducted points for being +- 3 mph of the speed limit.    They only take cash, and their car has problems with its power steering. Read Less

I have a foreign license but needed an American one. So I took a 2-hour driving lesson on the 18th of December with Naheel . She was extremely patient, helpful, competent, and a very good and effective instructor. She taught me all about the road rules, parking strategies, and even helped me overcome my fear of driving on the highway. I took the road test a few days after the lesson and passed it on the first try itself. I was a little nervous because of the rule that Naheel could not administer the road-test for me. But her husband, who did the road test, was also very fair and professional. My passing the road test would not have been possible without the excellent and patient coaching provided by Naheel during my lesson. These people are some of the rudest and most unprofessional I've ever encountered, not just in business, but in life. I've had two experiences with this company, about eight years apart, with identical results. First, they were over 20 minutes late and didn't apologize. The first time I encountered them was years ago, and I ended up canceling on the spot due to extreme rudeness. The second time, I was just there to give someone a ride, but was insulted and challenged, "What are you doing here?" within 5 seconds. Uh, excuse me, there are people coming and going all morning you uptight jerk, I'm just helping out a friend. They know that people need them to pass their driving test, so go out of their way to lord it over you the entire time. These people are truly pathetic and deserve to go out of business. I have been living in New York City for many years, and needed to refresh my driving so that I could drive my parents places as they age. I booked a lesson here, and it was so helpful. For me, this driving school is good. I had gone to one other driving school which was not as good as this one. Dean helped me with parking practice and driving on the highway. I was comfortable driving on the road but little scared to drive on the highway. I was not good at parking but Dean made me practice it and I was so happy to pass the driving test. Driving test was taken by the lady who I think is a nice person. I was nervous at the beginning of the test but the lady made me feel better. I would recommend this driving school. Read Less

My experience was very positive. I was driving with a female instructor, who was nice and professional. I had my driving lessons in two-hours blocks in the morning from 8 till 10, with a pick-up at home and a drop-off at my workplace. For me it all worked perfect. Read Less

I took the road test with the lady. She was very rude just from the beginning to the end. She shouts at me and makes me nervous and inevitably I made mistakes. I couldn't pass the test because of the mistakes I made, it is my fault but I didn't deserve that attitude at all. I bet that a guardian in a prison is more polite than this lady. I searched for driving schools in Ann Arbor and this was one of the first listings that showed up. On their website it said that for a two hour session they will pick you up.When I called, the person who answered was really annoyed that someone had called him. He sounded very dismissive about the options I gave him that would be the ideal time for me. Nonetheless, I scheduled an 8:00 am session and he asked me to come to his office. Upon asking whether he would pick up (according to the website), he said - "That's only for certain times - not 8 am. Come to my office."  - and then kept the phone down before I could confirm whether I was ok with coming to his office that early in the morning. I had to cancel as I couldn't get to his office this early in the morning and he just slammed the phone down on the other side.Why the chip on the shoulder? Read Less
