I took driving lessons with Mr. MiCallef. He was very straight forward and understanding, and always made sure I was retaining the information being given. Mr. Micallef is really specific with his instructions. When it comes to me making mistakes, he is calm and encouraging. So far, I have learned a lot from him and continue to use his skills. He is also very patient with his students and is very clear when giving you information about driving. He’s really helped me out especially when I first started driving. I had a terrible experience with All Star Driving School. Communication is a mess. Scheduling is worse. They keep changing class dates and times. What shows in the portal is different from what they actually schedule. You can’t trust the system. I sent screenshots showing the mismatch. They ignored the issue. They only cared about the $30 fee. Every person gives a different answer. No consistency. No accountability. I called to confirm a class cancellation because of snow. They confirmed it was cancelled. Later, I received a “no show” email with a $30 fee. How does that even happen? Another time, the portal showed a different appointment than what they had scheduled. I shared proof. Still charged $30. When my son finished his requirement, I confirmed the completion form would be available in the portal the next day. After two days, nothing was there. I called again. Then they said it takes 5–10 business days. Why give the wrong information in the first place? This school has poor coordination, poor communication, and no responsibility when they make mistakes. You spend more time fixing their errors than focusing on your child’s progress. I do not recommend All Star Driving School. Read Less

Instructors are great.  It's the company itself.  There are not enough instructors for the amount of students they enroll, therefore making it almost impossible to get all of your child's hours in for driving and observing.  Also, when you call they are closed for lunch.  They don't tell you what those hours are.  I didn't know they were a doctor's office.  Or, they have been closed several times for all day training.  So scheduling and rescheduling is a huge issue.  My sons (I have triplets, which made it even more difficult) finished their class on 7/7/17 and my one son cannot get his driving done until 9/19/17. First of all, their signage makes it nearly impossible to find. To outward appearances, they are located in a strip mall, except their sign is hung above a vacant storefront. After knocking on the door and driving around the rest of the parking lot for 15 minutes looking for another sign, we decided to call their office to ask where exactly they were located. At just after 1 in the afternoon, there was no one available to answer the phone because they "were at lunch." Eventually, we went into another store in the building to ask if they knew where it was, and found it tucked away in a cramped space in the interior of the mall.That was when we discovered that they lock the doors on their classrooms after 15 minutes. My brother waited until after class and spoke to the instructor who informed him he could go online and schedule a makeup day for the class he had missed. He did that day. The next day we made it there early so he could discuss what he had missed the previous day with the instructor.That day, however, the instructor said my brother couldn't make up classes from Segment II and refused to admit him into the classroom for the second consecutive day. My brother called into the office later to get further explanation and received a lot of conflicting information (but, hey, at least they answered this time). Apparently not only could he not make up the class that he had been 15 minutes late to, but the makeup date he signed up for online was to a series of classes that somehow didn't even exist! They did, however, invite us to spend another $60 to enroll for another Segment II course later in the summer. We declined.TL;DR: Spent $60 and 70 miles is gas driving out to a poorly signed location only to be shut out of the classroom twice, receive inconsistent information and an offer to spend $60 more to get into the classes we'd already registered for. Please do not let your children go to this driving school. The instructor was VERY rude and actually physically and verbally assaulted a girl in todays class!  He then had the audacity to say  "go ahead call the police they can't do anything to me I know the chief of police".   And it was all captured on video tape!  A cpl of girls were asked to leave class cuz they were being "disruptive".  however as a parent who came in to discuss the situation I did not expect to be attacked & verbally assaulted by the instructor!  I informed him that these girls were all honor students have never been in trouble before he didn't care to hear any of it.  I even informed him that I had left a chemotherapy appointment just to come meet with him; he then had the nerve to tell me he's had cancer before and knows how I feel it's not that big of a deal I should get over it!How dare he!!!!!!!!   If he can't handle working with his teenage students then he shouldn't be in the position that he's in!  He didn't even have enough patience or time for me let alone a teenager why is he in this position???   Think twice before putting your child at risk! He stank like alcohol and we reported him to the WB police.  TOP DRIVER was contacted but did nothing to remove the instructor as of this evening.  A phone call with the regional manager proved to be useless other than getting a refund is basically all he could offer.  The manager informed us he would do an investigation and return our call.  That means that currently the instructor is getting in the car with students while possibly intoxicated.  Glad to know they really care about our kids.  All the care about is the $ they take in apparently. I love ms. Clark, the way she teach me, the way she care and support me. She encouraged me. I took the adult private lessons with ms. Clark only 5times. And you know what? I passed my driving test yesterday!!! Ms. Clark is the one who told me to take the test right after I finish my 5times lessons, even when I thought j still need time and more practice, I'm not confident at all, but she said, just go take the test because you gonna pass! That what she said! When I passed, I went to top driving again right away to show her my certificate, she is crying and I'm crying! I love her! I will keep visit her and hangout with her! I don't think I can have this such good experience with other driving school. Read Less

This Driving School and Reassessment is excellent. Although we had only one teacher, who asked us what we did & didn't know about some of the driving laws in Michigan that aren't otherwise explained. When we took the assessment, he save us time and money by explaining only what we didn't know. i.e. my family taught me wrong to tell me a flashing red light meant Yield when it's supposed to act like a Stop sign. This was not the first driving school we tried, but it was by far the best. They began the program with a parent orientation to let us know what the kids would be learning and expectations in the classroom. The instructors were always willing to answer questions throughout the program and were extremely knowledgeable. The service staff was extremely helpful in scheduling drives for my son quick and easy. Top Driver has a web site with valuable information for parents and students alike as well as a schedules for the classes and drives available.I cannot praise Top Driver enough and I would highly recommend them for anyone seeking training. I feel strongly that my son has the knowledge and skills to be a safe and knowledgeable driving and its all due to the excellent instructors and staff of Top Driver. Read Less

I can't imagine having a better experience with learning how to drive safely and properly at any other place!The two most well-known and beloved driving instructors here are Ms. Clark and Mr. Mitchell. Both are throrough, relaxed, and fun to learn from.The place is a little on the old side, same goes to the instructional videos for class, but they are still applicable to today. The material is by no means outdated. Highlighters, pencils, and materials are provided - just remeber to being your workbook for every class!Some people who you could ask Ms. Clark about are Adam and Donovan. She would be happy to tell you a thing or two about them.And bringing in some cookies, cupcakes, or something is always appreciated! Some of the best memories of summer 2012 are from the 3-week class I took here. Most of the other students are friendly too if you just make a move to be friendly yourself.The Ford instruction vehicles are nice. They have great sound systems (you could bring a CD of music if you want), lots of adjustablilites, and comfy seats. The brake pedal is a bit sensitive so it's best to try going easy on it for the sake of everyone in the car.And finally, it is very easy to sign up for classes online. When scheduling your driving time, I highly recommend calling the phone number on the front of the workbook. Call as early as you can too in case they are really filling up. Definitely a good driving school for young teens wishing to get proper driving skills and classroom education about driving on the road. Different packages offered by Top Driver that parents can choose from to allow additional hours of driving on the road. Packages offered are silver and gold, and each has a certain amount of observation and driving time alloted to each. My child has had a great experience with Top Driver and she loved the teachers and the driving instructors. I would definitely recommend this program to any parent! Read Less
