I completed my segments here a while back, and while the facility itself is fine, the experience varies wildly depending on your instructor. highly recommend requesting Ms. Sam She is one of the most down to earth and patient people I have ever worked with. She understands how stressful learning to drive is and provides the kind of calm, supportive environment that actually helps you succeed. I also had great drives with an older gentleman and an older lady (didn't catch their names) who were both very sweet and professional. On the other hand, my experience with Mr. Moy was incredibly disappointing. While some people think he’s "funny," his behavior is unprofessional and detrimental to learning. Throughout our drives, his feedback was purely sarcasm. He didn't provide actual technical help. he just made jokes at my expense. The worst part was after a drive when he decided to embarrass me in front of several other people. He got out of the car, knelt to kiss the ground, and loudly asked the group if he had "stains on his ass" because he was "scared shitless." There is a massive difference between a harmless joke and intentionally stressing out a student to the point that they perform poorly. If you are a driver who gets anxious or actually wants constructive feedback avoid him.

So we used this driving school for our middle child and youngest. Both children stated that they felt they were given enough instructional information and were never afraid to ask a question. We ran into a problem after segment 2 with our youngest and my wife said that Robin in the office was very quick to help solve the issue and email the information we needed. We both would and have been recommending to other people! Please remember nothing runs smoothly 100% of the time and patience in life in a requirement sometimes!

I love this place so much! I will be back for my segment 2. I had no problem with any of the instructors and they were pretty nice about switching your schedule around. If you did not like an instructor then they would switch you to another one although the instructors were pretty good. It was my first time sitting in the driver seat and Ms. Jess was so nice and understanding. She wasn’t like those instructors who expected you to know what you were doing. Mr. Muy who has so many bad reviews surprised me cause he was so funny and nice😂 Ms. Sam who was our instructor for the 3 weeks was the best at explaining the lessons we had😎

Go to a different driving school. Seriously. The head lady/ teacher there is very rude in class and on the road. I didn't know what to bring on the first day because it was not listed anywhere on their site and I figured we wouldn't be doing too much since it was only the first class. She got crabby with me just because I asked her if I could borrow a pen, claiming I need to "be more responsible" as if she knew anything about me.
There's three driving instructors, and I only liked one of them. The other two were the head lady (shocker) and an older man who annoyed me to no end when he was teaching me how to parallel park, and I felt uncomfortable. Even though I liked that one instructor, he still made me go out on a CITY ROAD full of traffic even though I told him I had never driven a car before.
Throughout segments 1 and 2 all you do in the class is watch dumb, outdated videos that basically tell you "drive wrong and you're gonna DIE" and do stupid exercises out of a book that were of no help. The teacher only started going over what was on the written test the day before it.
Go find a better school. They are not patient with you here and make you feel scared to drive. I learned twice as much about driving from my own family than I did at this school.

I received a great amount of compassion from the owner when I attended. My father died while I was attending and I missed classes and driving time while searching for his body. Not only were they very helpful and kind while rescheduling but in my absence Mrs. Borse got a card and had everyone in the class write kind words to me. Macomb Driving Academy's kindness is something I frequently think about and will never forget.

Response to Jennifer O complaint....This complaint is completely false and must be addressed. No driving instructor ever slapped a student driver from our driving academy. Students are treated with care, patience and respect ALWAYS! The 19 and 20 year old brother sister team were mentally challenged and difficult, (as were the parents), using foul language, not keeping driving appointments and making horrible threats of taking us to court if we didn't offer the times they wanted. It was difficult finding an instructor that would even get into the vehicle with them. It's a shame that we were unable to satisfy these "students", but I can assure all, that we set high standards for the staff and go out of our way to make our students feel secure and enjoy the experience of learning to drive.

I completed my segments here a while back, and while the facility itself is fine, the experience varies wildly depending on your instructor. highly recommend requesting Ms. Sam She is one of the most down to earth and patient people I have ever worked with. So we used this driving school for our middle child and youngest. Both children stated that they felt they were given enough instructional information and were never afraid to ask a question. We ran into a problem after segment 2 with our youngest and my wife said that Robin in the office was very quick to help solve the issue and email the information we needed. I love this place so much! I will be back for my segment 2. I had no problem with any of the instructors and they were pretty nice about switching your schedule around. If you did not like an instructor then they would switch you to another one although the instructors were pretty good. It was my first time sitting in the driver seat and Ms. Jess was so nice and understanding. She wasn’t like those instructors who expected you to know what you were doing. Go to a different driving school. Seriously. The head lady/ teacher there is very rude in class and on the road. I didn't know what to bring on the first day because it was not listed anywhere on their site and I figured we wouldn't be doing too much since it was only the first class. She got crabby with me just because I asked her if I could borrow a pen, claiming I need to "be more responsible" as if she knew anything about me.
There's three driving instructors, and I only liked one of them. I received a great amount of compassion from the owner when I attended. My father died while I was attending and I missed classes and driving time while searching for his body. Response to Jennifer O complaint....This complaint is completely false and must be addressed. No driving instructor ever slapped a student driver from our driving academy. Students are treated with care, patience and respect ALWAYS!
