Very patient and informative instructor (Mr. King). Improved my overall confidence and retaught me how to drive and park correctly in a short amount of time. Way more motivated to keep improving on the road!

Paid for 4 consecutive days of 2hr classes for grandson. Grandson was taken out for 3 consecutive days and on 4th day Reggie called and said the car was leaking fluid and that grandson could get refu...
Paid for 4 consecutive days of 2hr classes for grandson. Grandson was taken out for 3 consecutive days and on 4th day Reggie called and said the car was leaking fluid and that grandson could get refunded for the 2 remaining hours or reschedule. We rescheduled for the first available time, which was 4 days later. On that day Reggie called and said the car was in the shop still. He stated that the dealer said it would be ready that day. When I asked if my grandson could finish his last 2 hrs the next day. Reggie said that the earliest time would be 5/25/2026, because he had other clients scheduled. My grandon's today is final two hrs would have been 5/15/2026. We were patient with Reggie when his car was down you would think that he could accommodate my grandson before 5/25. I then requested a refund for the last 2 hrs. Reggie told me he would initiate it as soon as I hung up. Then not even a minute later calls and states that refund will not be initiated until the driver's manual given to my grandson was returned. He should pick this up once his car was ready. Which I'm sure would have been the procedure had he kept the last 2 hrs appointment. This driving school has been around for years. My children and eldest grandson were able to get their driver's licenses after taking lessons here. I had nothing but praise for this school until now. I'm sure the founder Mr. James Smith would have done everything to accommodate my grandson for this inconvenience not the other way around. He was a business man with high standards.

The instructor was amazing, he was courteous, and he was always on time. The vehicle is clean and works perfectly for the drivers testing to get you DL.

I wouldn’t recommend it. While I was impressed with the $600 price for four days a week, two hours a day, it was $100 cheaper than a school in Independence, making it a more convenient option. However, I had to explain to the individual why they could not get their license, which I felt was not my job. After every session, they were left more confused and felt defeated by some of the comments made.
The person expressed that the trainer was rude and abrasive, showing little patience as they tried to learn how to drive. Despite this, I believe every mishap can be seen as an opportunity for growth. Although the individual didn’t want to continue the lessons, I insisted.

My family never had a car and I was very scared of driving when I went to James Smith Driving school. Surprisingly, I passed my driving test in the first attempt. I thank my instructor Reggie King. He is an excellent instructor. I would recommend choosing a newer model of car. Highly recommend this driving school.

My son paid for the 8 hour course. On the last day he was able to take his driving exam in the vehicle he trained in and got a 94%! He was only marked off for not signaling during the parallel parking...
My son paid for the 8 hour course. On the last day he was able to take his driving exam in the vehicle he trained in and got a 94%! He was only marked off for not signaling during the parallel parking part of the exam, he actually aced that. The instructor was very thorough patient, and professional. We will use them again when my 13 year is of age.

Don't believe what is told to you over the phone or in person, make sure you get it in writing. My youngest still doesn't have his licence.

I wouldn’t recommend it. While I was impressed with the $600 price for four days a week, two hours a day, it was $100 cheaper than a school in Independence, making it a more convenient option. However, I had to explain to the individual why they could not get their license, which I felt was not my job. After every session, they were left more confused and felt defeated by some of the comments made.

My family never had a car and I was very scared of driving when I went to James Smith Driving school. Surprisingly, I passed my driving test in the first attempt. I thank my instructor Reggie King. He is an excellent instructor. I would recommend choosing a newer model of car. Highly recommend this driving school.

He was only marked off for not signaling during the parallel parking part of the exam, he actually aced that. The instructor was very thorough patient, and professional. We will use them again when my 13 year is of age.
