If you are looking to get your class A CDL to drive, look no further. The journey I had to take wasn’t a simple one but it led me here so I’m thankful. I went through training at a separate facility for 5 weeks. When it came to test I quickly found out the school that I had been sent to through my employer had not well prepared me. There was gaps in my knowledge, and practical skills. I tested twice with the other company (failing the backing portion each time) and then through a Google Search we found Custom Diesel Drivers Training. As a third party, and not having been through their training they treated me like their own. Like they had been with me from the start. On April 12th I was sent to do a 4 hour training session with them in hopes of giving me the missing skills & knowledge I needed & the plan was to test shortly after. They made the decision to inform my job that they wanted more time with me, to put me in the best possible position to test comfortably and pass. So, on April 19th I was sent me for another 6 hour training session with CDDT. On April 24th I tested. I passed my pre-trip but was weak in my backing, and didn’t pass ultimately leading me to fail. They got me right back in to test 2 days later on April 26th. Where the Owner, Ken, personally worked 1 hour with me on my backing before my test. I finally passed my backing portion perfectly! But due to a fluke situation with my testing vehicle failed the driving portion. On May 1st I practiced with them, tested, and PASSED! 🙌🏻 My review is lengthy because I had a longer process than most & needed it to be made clear how patient, and supportive they were even though they came into my journey a little later they are the ones that had the biggest impact. They never waivered in their support for me, or encouragement even after failed testing. But reminded me I could do this until I did. If I could have saved my self the headache & have found CDDT sooner, I would. Don’t be like me haha, choose them the 1st time, and get the quality skills & support you need to get your Class A. I choose CDDT over other local schools due to the extensive Over The Road experience of every Instructor at the school. Not only are you taught the skills needed to attain your Permit (and eventual CDL) you are given the tips and life lessons of all those years of experience. They move you through the program based on your specific learning abilities. I went from not being able to shift a manual truck to successfully passing all tests on my first try. I recently graduated from CDDT on 03/17 I had an excellent experience the instructors were very patient and informative they cover all aspects of the trade from A to Z in class and in the truck and willing to answer any questions, not to mention there willingness to help you line up a driving job before you even finish with school.
