My ATP experience was great. I felt like I got my moneys worth from the program. Right now there are a lot of pilots going into the field, which makes it difficult sometimes to get your check rides quick. ATP paid out of their own pocket thousands of dollars to fly me to different locations within the US to take my check rides. They took extremely good care of me on those trips and I couldn't be happier with my experience. ATP also has a lot of integrity. An issue arose in Flight Instructing school and they completely owned the mistake and did everything they could to make it right. They didn't have too and, and the mistake wasn't completely theirs but they again showed incredible integrity and took very good care of me. Its a fast paced program so be ready to devote all your time to it, but its a great way to go. The planes are very well taken care of and are extremely nice compared to almost every other flight school. They have great student resources and they know what they are doing. Im glad I made the choice to go to ATP and am proud to recommend it to others. The only thing that I would be careful with is choosing a location. Some office "managers" can be very difficult. This school is unprofessional and dysfunctional. My first instructor was 40mins late 98% of the time. His excuse was that this is not the airlines so he does not have to be there on time. Well, u have students waiting for you that paid for your service, so show some respect and professionalism. The only thing the manager had to say about this was that he is late as well. Another instructor showed a lack of caring, was lazy, and taught bad habits. His only concern is to get 1500hrs and leave. Once Atp has ur money, you are treated like an employee. They force checkrides on you that you are not ready for, also, they tell you that you can not choose the dpe that you want. The bill of rights tells me that I can choose the dpe of my choice. You can not make your own rules Atp to satisfy your greed. They schedule checkrides the night before and force you to do all your flights before you even have a checkride scheduled. These are some of the reasons they have a high bust rate on their checkrides but do they care....absolutely not. They win even if you bust a checkride since we are renting their planes.
