Teacher was very friendly and overall had a great time. No complaints from me and everything was very organized which was lovely.

Teachers use profanity in class (of course, kids are not allowed to do that; it's part of their rules). Instructors treat all students as if they are irresponsible delinquents...with little respect. Great idea to assume the worst; way to model! Poor communication, in that when you first sign up, you will hear nothing until after classes begin. Teachers might not verbalize on day one that the second class will involve two tests. The information for that is buried in the back of the folder they are given. When my first son went through the program, I was concerned about a new traffic circle where accidents were occurring daily and someone had ended up in a coma. I didn't feel comfortable with the first few driving lessons involving that circle. Instructor spoke to me in a condescending way, then (2 yrs. later), spoke about me (to my next son) in a condescending/belittling way. Just not professional. If they don't like working with teens, they should be replaced. My next two children will be going elsewhere. I did not hear this kind of feedback from parents using other companies. Read Less

My son was unable to complete his driving time during the course due to a lack of available drivers on weekdays. This was exacerbated by the "random" methodology for assigning driving times. The prescribed solution was to email Bensons each Friday with availability for the following week, this resulted in one makeup drive canceled due to weather, a response that there were no driving times available, and then the lack of a response despite over ten weeks of availability emailed. I would caution parents against sending their children to Bensons until the issue of driving time is resolved. At this point, we are out $675 and Bensons is unresponsive regarding the needed behind the wheel time. Buyer beware. Or you to may be out $675 and looking for other options. ::UPDATE:: The lack of communciation and adequate driving coverage for the student load was finally overcome on May 31st when the course started last November was completed. Certificate in hand and we don't need to start over with another school. It was a frustrating experience. If you decide to use Benson's I recommend being assertive in your communications and scheduling. Read Less
