I had two separate sessions with Magdy, one teaching me how to parallel park and k-turn and the other was on the day of the road test just giving me a run down of what I needed to do to pass. In the first session, the first thing he asked me once he got settled was what I wanted to learn and once I answered, we got straight down to business. He was prepared, good at communicating, and made me feel more confident on the road once I actually understood how to park and k-turn. That second session was truly the only way I passed my road test and he’s genuinely a good guy with 35+ years of experience in teaching how to properly drive, you won’t regret learning with Magdy. ALL you need to KNOW: It was a pleasure taking lessons and eventually the driving test (which i passed) with Magdy. He makes sure you understand how the test will function and what EXACTLY you need to do to pass. Tips include: 1. How the testing centers are structured and what course you'll take especially for Newark Testing center. 2. How testers test you on intersections 3. Which lanes you need to be on while turning and driving through the test 4. Changing lanes correctly with indicators during test 5. Correct hand positions 6. Correct mirror angles for parallel parking 7. Correct hand position for backing the car in a straight line 8. Stop signs and how instructors judge when there is a pedestrian lane right after the stop sign The prices are competitive and he will take you to the driving test as well. Passed in first attempt, took 11 hours driving About me: I haven't driven before and this is the my first time learning to drive experience. I took my first class with Amar DS for an hour, second one with Amin for 2 hours and then I got appointment with St.Mina DS. Magdy is all in all when it comes to St.Mina DS Timing: I usually book appointments at the end of my driving session for the next one. He gives me call five minutes before reaching and ensure I get complete 2 hours. About instructor: He asks in first class what is the expectations from him, what you want to do for this 2 hours, etc. I found difficulty understanding his linguistics at first few times, but the main words like brakes, gas, left, right, stop, k turn, park are clearly understood. So, I never bothered about the stories he shares. My driving sessions: I took 5 sessions, each 2 hours. Session 1,2 turns, parking, backup Session 3 highway driving at night Session 4 highway, parking, k-turn Session 5 local street driving On the day of exam, I requested him for an hour to practice and drive to Rahway, my exam centre. I found the tips he shared very helpful during exam, like the stop signs where people miss and fail, 3 time signal change while k-turn. At the end, I felt extremely happy to pass in the first attempt. Because I practiced in that car, I am confident now to handle any car. It was really bad. First of all he has a thick accent and worse than that is, he has big ego. He keeps yelling over every single mistake that you make. This was my second and final lesson. I am done with him. Forget with driving lesson he has a big ego over the phone too. He should understand that people have tough time understanding his thick accent yet he is so foolishly proud of his knowledge that he has an audacity to shout at others as if he is teaching free of cost and doing favor to others. Also, I must let to know that he is not focused on teaching. Hardly explains any road concepts and most of the time keeps talking over the phone booking his appointments. Mr Magdy is one man army. He teaches only after observing the driving style. His correction method in case of hitting curb and alternative methods of k turn made me pass my road test at lodi with breeze. He is punctual and may sound impatient if we miss time. He gives one hour exact course unlike other driving schools. Definetly would recommend this driving school if your aim is to drive safe and of course clear the road test. Read Less

Magdee, the driving instructor is awesome and I was so pleased to meet him. I passed the road test easily in my first attempt. Pros: 1. Most patient and kind instructor - he will never yell at you rather will guide you on your mistakes. Guys..Don't be afraid to ask him questions, he won't get irritated and will clear all your doubts. 2. Professional - He will always call you 10 mins before your class and will reach on time. He will charge you reasonably as per market rate (Not like Amar driving school who had increased their per class fees by 5 dollars after my 3 classes with them). 3. Excellent driving skill - He will teach you all tricks and techniques for parallel parking and K-turn. Moreover, if you are incorrect in trying to make PP then he will teach you how to correct it properly (which other driving schools like Amar and Amin don't teach). Cons: He has a basic model of car. Magdy was so patient. I went 3 schools (city line, falcon and provident) before I found him. I told him how I was trying to find the right one for me because i was very nervous. He told me no worry I am him. He couldn't have been more right. I am so grateful. I passed the test on my second time out. The first time was my fault because I was nervous. Took a few classes with him and today I had my road test in Wayne, NJ and I passed in my 1st try. Very cool minded, very thorough in his instructions, but never overbearing as to make you nervous. He always called a few mins before he arrived and I appreciated that. The best part for me was I never thought parallel park and K turns are actually piece of cakes. I am glad he was my teacher.
