My daughter took her 6 hr course, private lessons and road test with safety first. We had a really great experience. We would especially like to thank Denise for all her help. Denise was our instructor, she was very thorough even down to the chamomile tea she suggested to calm my daughter for her test. Safety First Driving School has made me confident that I can drive in New Jersey. My instructor, Day Stryker, was phenomenal every single time, without fail. We started on the first lesson with general education and skills related to driving, such as knowing where the different controls are and what they do, braking and accelerating, turning, speed control, among other things, such as pre-driving checklists. Additionally, she explained topics from Drivers' Education that I wasn't too confident in, helping me further understand exactly what driving is and what I would need to do. To add on, she was a fun person to be around and extremely easy to get along with. During the second lesson, we moved on to highway driving and parallel parking, both of which I practiced on roads that were suited to my skill level at the time. Day knew exactly what challenges I needed just from that first lesson, and it went a long way in aiding my driving skills. As a bonus, I can parallel park confidently because of her! Finally, on the third day, we went for a bigger highway drive and experienced city driving. Day helped me maneuver through the distractions and hardships of driving in a city such as New Brunswick, skills I'll definitely need as I start driving on my own to important places within the city. I would highly recommend this driving school to anybody looking for a carefully curated, amazing driving school experience. Read Less

Both our sons used Safety First for driving lessons and road test service, and we had a great experience each time. Huge shout-out to Denise who recently taught my son—friendly, calm, patient, and super effective! For a kid who was initially nervous and had zero interest to drive, she really boosted his confidence and helped him to eventually pass his road test. Stephanie, the manager, is also fantastic—extremely responsive, helpful, and encouraging. Everything was smooth and easy from start to finish. I highly recommend! Read Less

Stephanie and Denise at Safety First are top notch! I’ve had my 3 girls use Safety First and they are always friendly, informative and accommodating. My daughter had her test the day after Thanksgiving and Denise made sure that the holiday wouldn’t interrupt her driving test and the refresher practice they did before the test. Both my children have had the benefit of using Safety First Driving School. Instruction was very good, and competent. They had more success with parking instructions in a short period of time then spending hours on my own the first time around. Also were good with exposing them to real traffic situations. All and all very pleasant experience for students and parents. Glad we selected SFDS. Read Less

I highly recommend Safety First. There is no words to describe the amazing job Merrilyn did with my daughter. She needed extra help with the parallel parking and not only she showed her parallel parking but she went through all she was going to need for her road test which by the way was the very next day. She was very helpful and friendly and my daughter felt so comfortable with her. She definitely went above and beyond and we are very grateful for that. and YES, my daughter passed the road test. My son just completed his six hours of behind the wheel instruction with Safety First Driving School. I can not say enough good this about our experience with Safety First. The office staff was friendly, knowledgeable, answering all my questions and concerns. There is no words to describe the amazing learning experience my son had in the car with Jason. My son was VERY nervous before starting the six hours and now is comfortable about being behind the wheel. I would STRONGLY recommend Safety First to everyone!! Read Less

Safety First, or Me First, was a terrible learning experience for me. I live in East Brunswick and I was afflicted with the "teaching expertise" of some morbidly obese instructor who goes by his probable gang name, "Ziggy". I learned absolutely nothing under this jerk, and safety was the least of his concerns. I felt like a chaffeur, driving this idiot around so that he can get his generous lunch on at my learning expense, and my money wasted on this institution. Not only is this business a bad investment, it is both costly and rude to the consumer, and a waste of time for all involved. If you want to drive and be heckled by a man-child with his thick jowls hungrily snapping a slice of italian pizza, spewing crumbs all over you as you struggle to listen to his wheezily voiced commands, then Safety "Me First" First is the perfect driving school for you. They will not be receiving another cent from my fmily, and I wish their no refund, which was probably made from valid foresight, was not in effect. Terrible company, terrible business plan, terrible people. Read Less

The service these people provide is remarkable. Our neighbors referred us. Our two children were handled the same way and we are happy for many reasons. One it is over and the second is the process was painless for us. First they pick up the student at home or school. After checking to make sure you have all the documentation they take the student to get the permit. While there an appointment is set up for the test one year later on the childs 17th birthday. each of the following lessions they pick up at school or home, they are prompt and patient. I just wish I could have my business have a seamless and great flow. My child rolled through the stops and did not pass the road test. they set up the next test and once a gain came to our home and took him to pass the test the second time. Thew only glitch was my child's name. we have use his middle name and much of the paperwork was in the middle name but his birth certificate was different.
