I've had a pretty good experience with this location! Most of the instructors were very friendly, respectful and helpful toward my learning to drive despite being 23 at the time I enlisted. Facilities in the building were also solid, though I spent most of my time on the road it was a pretty accommodating environment in my experience. For three of my five lessons I was given a completely different instructor, which made it kinda hard to keep track of my goals for each lesson across them, but I never felt like they didn't care or weren't trying to give me a good educational session. Overall, very nice place! If for some reason I needed driving lessons again, I would definitely consider them. Read Less

Don't waste your money here. They are over booked and undermanned and keep pumping students into the pipeline. The only way to get on the schedule is to have your student wake up at 5am and constantly refresh the site in hopes something is available. My student has been in the driving program for 3 months and yet has only been able to complete 4 driving courses. They are inflexible, and while polite when you speak to them, not willing to prioritize students who are closer to completion to free up space in the pipeline. Just shows they don't care about the students and only care about getting your money. Read Less

Possibly the worst school I’ve went to, only had probably one good instructor there. Don’t remember his name but the other two who I had were horrible, they were the “harder” instructors who you have to deal with when doing the practice driving. Every single time when I went into the car I did the first steps when entering the vehicle correctly, just to be told at the end of the sessions that I was “doing it wrong.” Though we were literally taught and given notes on what to do, When I called the school a lady answered the phone, who I’m probably guessing is either the wife of the people who own the place. Had horrible attitude, when she asked for the date in when I had received my provisional I told her and she said in a snarky tone,” wow you waited that long to call us? Uhm okay.” Uh no duh I am very busy with other things in life and couldn’t have anyone to take me either way so the attitude was very uncalled for. This place only cares about the money, seriously my friend went to another school that was 10 times better and didn’t cost so much either! Don’t come here Read Less

Because today, my son has reading disability. Instructor said by state law, parents are not allowed to help there son or daughter reading out the test forms. Instructor even said he could not help the student in his class. He has these other students. I went to McGinnis exactly same one on Coors in Albuquerque NM. I had a Instructor name Fabert who help me back in 1998, he was also a history teacher who taught me Del Norte High school. Where is help from this instructor? Why are they could not help there student correct? Or do they want to screw over people with there money. Today my son is taking his 2nd written test, instructor said no cheat sheet to be used on 25 questions test. Read Less

McGinnis does not get the kids in the cars until AFTER they have completed all the classroom training, After classroom training, you schedule the drives every 3 weeks. You cannot even schedule another right away, they make you wait a few days. This could take another 6 months easily. Insulting to the already inflated price of 350.00, you can start tacking on all the extra fees that they don't include like the permit exam, road test and if you want to fast track your child after learning the hard way that it takes 6 months or more to drive 7hrs with McGinnis you have to pay another 100.00. I was under the impression that McGinnis was going to TEACH my child to DRIVE a car UP FRONT. The classroom training is one thing, but practical lessons were most important to me. They encourage the parents to do all the up front driving and they don't get the kids in the car right away like many of the other schools. Do yourself a favor, get the semester at school if it's offered for 100.00, then you can avoid all the headaches that our family had to deal with. I would not recommend McGinnis school of driving.
