This was my first lesson with Alberto, and hands down he is the calmest and most patient instructor l've had. He is incredibly quick to correct my steering mistakes without ever making me feel embarrassed or talked down to. He doesn't act like a parental figure when he offers suggestions—he simply helps you improve.
I'll admit I'm a nervous first-time drama queen driver. I really appreciated how patient he was with all of my little driving quirks. I tend to overcompensate for other drivers' steering, jerk the wheel unnecessarily as if I'm drifting a race car, and stay hyper-aware of just about everything happening on the road. Alberto adapted to all of it without ever sounding frustrated.
The goal of this lesson was to learn how to merge onto the highway during rush hour. His quiet confidence and calm demeanor gave me the confidence to do the same, and before I knew it, I was merging successfully without needing his instructions or corrections. Somewhere along the way, I realized I had naturally started absorbing the rules of the road instead of just reacting to everything around me.
To be fair, I still had a healthy dose of adrenaline. Alberto had to step in and correct my steering three times-once while making a last-minute lane change into the exit lane, once while navigating a sharp exit-ramp curve lined with yellow chevrons (I underestimated just how sharp the turn was), and once inside a narrow tunnel, where the confined space and lighting made it harder for me to judge the curve. Each time, his corrections were swift, smooth, and focused entirely on safety. No panic. No anger. Just calm professionalism.
More than anything, Alberto made the car feel like a safe place to learn. He softly pointed out my mistakes, corrected them, and let me learn from them, and I even laughed at myself afterward. At one point, he even witnessed me letting out a big sigh after a mistake instead of getting angry with myself. That kind of environment made all the difference.
I wholeheartedly recommend Alberto to anyone learning how to drive. If you're a nervous beginner like me, I genuinely think you'll appreciate his patience, professionalism, and quiet confidence. Read Less
