I've heard of calm instructors who would get you there step by step, but I had not met one like instructor Jones Lemar. Calmest instructor ive seen. timely, the pickups and drop offs are bonus. He gave me the confidence I needed, explained why you do what you do, that enabled me to give the examiners what they need so they could grant me what I needed. talking about holding your hand, he was my instructor from start to finish. Mr.Dune is an excellent driving instructor. I had never thought I would be able to drive before and Mr.Dune boosted my confidence in driving 100%. He is extremely patient, very attentive & safe. He never allows you to doubt yourself, he lets you know that you can do it & believes that you can. To give some insight, I had no idea what I was doing prior to driving with Mr.Dune, I took 10 classes with him and once I got done I started to drive with my step dad in which we took about 6 lessons together. Mr.Dune had encouraged me to also drive with others outside of his classes which was very helpful! Thereafter I took my road test & not surprisingly passed! I listened to Mr.Dune & everything he had taught me, I couldn't be more thankful to him that I am now licensed to drive. I had not had the opportunity to learn how to drive in my teens and 20’s and never thought I would ever need to. When the time came where driving became a necessity, I wondered into Mr. Dunes office by chance. I had a few lessons from globex before, and didn’t like it. Mr Dunes is a different story, he is patient and gives you all the tools you need to pass and be a confident driver. I realized early that he really enjoys teaching people to drive, especially those like myself who never thought they would drive. He gives you constant instructions, but in a very useful way. You are never left guessing what to do. I was elated when I passed my driving test (on my first try in a rather short amount of time) I have him to thank for the confidence he instilled in me. I plan on taking highway driving lessons with him. If you are thinking about getting your license, Go with Mr, Dune! He’s straightforward but very kind and patient. Before I started lessons in June, I was scared to get behind the wheel. My Driving instructor at the turn of the century made sure that I feared to drive. I only decided to learn how after my Mom and I found ourselves stranded in Greensboro, NC after our original plans fell through. Fast forward 3 months later, and not only did I pass the road test on the first try, but I've had the courage to take on the BQE (Off-Peak of course) thanks to his lessons. Mr. Dunes and Mr. Roberts are both great driving instructors. Although they are busy, the scheduling is very flexible. They explain everything very well to make sure that you understand. Mr. Dunes’ goal is that you pass your road test and he won’t stop at anything to make sure you accomplish that goal. When we were at the toast testing site, he told me all the possible turns and outcomes that the test examiner would tell me to do, since he knows the area very well. Thank you so much Mr. Dunes!!! You were so patient yet confident in my abilities. What ever he felt I needed work on, the very next lesson was to improve that. He keeps you in a relaxed state to make sure that you do well and doesn't sign you up for the test unless he feels you're ready. I passed on the first try and that's what he aims for. If you ask him, which I did, to rate how you are doing, he will so you know what to expect when the test comes. The same thing he kept telling me was the same thing I got points off for: staying in my lane. The only negative thing is he is constantly being booked because he is so good!!! Read Less

Mr. Dune is the greatest instructor ever!!! He is very patience, Calm and nice. Today I passed my road test on the first try. I was amazed because I was very nervous. When I was nervous he told me, "Not to be nervous, just remain calm, follow all instructions, take your time, proceed when it is safe and have confidence." Once you take his advice and do as you are told, it is 100% guarantee you would pass the exam. He was very organized. He kept a schedule of everyone's road test appointment and driving lessons etc. He always call before he picks you up. Also I recommend double lessons, its the best opportunity to improve on your weaknesses. It is worth it. Take Mr. Dunes he is the best driving instructor in NYC. Read Less

I second the other user's review here: he shows no respect for customers at all. I tried many times scheduling a class, but he either doesn't answer the phone or doesn't return the calls. When I finally scheduled a class and showed up, he simply wasn't there. He gave no explanation as for why, simply told me to come back later, which I did. Me. Dune stood me up twice! He said he'd pick me up from my home at 11am, I had to keep calling to find out where he was and the assistant kept telling me to wait because he will be on his way soon. By 2pm he still didn't show up nor call. So I decided to reschedule for the same time in the following week because I understand that it might have been a really busy day for him or what have you. lo and behold the same thing happens the next week ; he neither gave a courtesy call nor showed up. All this goes to show that he is unprofessional and unorganized! He doesn't respect people's time. I felt very disrespected because I have things to do but I took time out of my busy schedule to receive his services and he couldn't call to say he needs more time or he can't make it.. This place is the worst. The office has other services within and neither Mr dunes or anyone who represents his business was there the multiple times I went. Finally a man who I'm guessing works there called him and handed me the phone with no explanation. I then had to make an appointment with him over the phone while he was in the middle of another lesson. The day of my appointment he was a no show even though he made it a point to tell me multiple times 'we start on time'. I called multiple times and when he finally answered he had no idea about who I was or that I had an appointment, again in the middle of a lesson with someone else. He said he would call me back, and I'm still waiting. This is an ongoing situation that happened today and has yet to be resolved. My advice, go to another driving school where there is more than what seems like one instructor and you can speak to someone in person. Read Less
