I worked with all 3 instructors for standard drivers licensure and had a wonderful experience with all of them. They each teach in a way that is unique, but never contradicts the others, which helped create a more complete and confident experience. Additionally, scheduling and troubleshooting DMV error was made much easier by the help of Romeo. They work with all skill levels, so if you’re looking for somewhere to help you build confidence without judgement I would highly recommend starting here.

Highly Recommend Canandaigua driving school If you are trying to get your class A CDL. They have updated trucks and a very knowledgeable staff. I took my road test in December 2025 and passed on the first attempt. Came back in January 2026 to get the manual restriction lifted off my license.
Great group of instructors also, they know what they are doing!! From safety on the yard all the way to being in the truck with you while driving. Huge shout out to Dave, Chrissy, Fred, Steve, and Bill. To all the new drivers…keep the shiny side up!

Instructors were very good at transmitting the right information at the right time. Started out with no knowledge and was able to pass my exam this past Monday. Got a job offer two days later, doing a regional route. Thank you to the instructors and staff at Canandaigua Driving School!

Going in with no experience, this school, and the instructors took their time and taught me exactly what I needed in order to be the best driver that I can be when driving an A class vehicle. The amount of patience that all the instructors have are so valued, all of your students appreciate all of your patience and effort given for me along with everyone else to gain the skills and knowledge that we need to be our best. In just 10 weeks, no experience, I was able to successfully receive my class A CDL.
The equipment and pad availability at this school makes all the difference because you’re actually able to practise and do your best, and make mistakes, all while learning to be your best. Other locations that I’ve scoped out before, does not compare to Canandaigua Driving School.
Bill, Dave, Chrissy, Steve, Fred, and Romeo, thank you so very much for absolutely everything.
Highly recommend this school, for every reason you can think of. Beyond 5 stars!

When I first came to Canandaigua driving school I was not very confident in driving, part of why I waited til I was in my 30s to even attempt at getting my license. Emily gave me the confidence and was super patient with me while learning it was like driving around with a friend not a teacher super relaxed environment and honestly don't think I would have passed without them. Prices are super fair and they even had payment plan options which was super helpful. I honestly can't thank them enough from Emily to her Aunt Joanie, andbRomeo who made the entire process easy. I will be recommending them to everyone who asks and will definitely be sending my daughters their way when it's their turn!

For whatever reason their driving "inscrutors" are incapable of showing up on time. This is only my second lesson and I'm stuck waiting twenty minutes after the time they were suppose to be here. I ca...
For whatever reason their driving "inscrutors" are incapable of showing up on time. This is only my second lesson and I'm stuck waiting twenty minutes after the time they were suppose to be here. I called the depot twice and no one bothered to answer, I have no clue if the "instructor" will even show up today. The first lesson the "inscrutor" was 15 minutes late and I had to call the depot to find out if he was even coming at all. I literally paid 390$ dollars for these lessons and so far they've not only been late but wildly underwhelming. I have an extremely busy schelude and do not have the time to sit around waiting for them to do their freaking jobs! Absolute waste of money!

When my girlfriend took her road test the DMV employee took the 5 hour certificate from here and wrote void across the form and refused to give her the road test. So pay for a 5 hour here if you want ...
When my girlfriend took her road test the DMV employee took the 5 hour certificate from here and wrote void across the form and refused to give her the road test. So pay for a 5 hour here if you want to, no guarantee it will be good for anything. Form had no driving school number, cost of course, type of form or issue date.

I worked with all 3 instructors for standard drivers licensure and had a wonderful experience with all of them. They each teach in a way that is unique, but never contradicts the others, which helped create a more complete and confident experience. Additionally, scheduling and troubleshooting DMV error was made much easier by the help of Romeo. They work with all skill levels, so if you’re looking for somewhere to help you build confidence without judgement I would highly recommend starting here.

Highly Recommend Canandaigua driving school If you are trying to get your class A CDL. They have updated trucks and a very knowledgeable staff. I took my road test in December 2025 and passed on the first attempt. Came back in January 2026 to get the manual restriction lifted off my license.

Going in with no experience, this school, and the instructors took their time and taught me exactly what I needed in order to be the best driver that I can be when driving an A class vehicle. The amount of patience that all the instructors have are so valued, all of your students appreciate all of your patience and effort given for me along with everyone else to gain the skills and knowledge that we need to be our best. When I first came to Canandaigua driving school I was not very confident in driving, part of why I waited til I was in my 30s to even attempt at getting my license. Emily gave me the confidence and was super patient with me while learning it was like driving around with a friend not a teacher super relaxed environment and honestly don't think I would have passed without them. Prices are super fair and they even had payment plan options which was super helpful. I honestly can't thank them enough from Emily to her Aunt Joanie, andbRomeo who made the entire process easy. For whatever reason their driving "inscrutors" are incapable of showing up on time. This is only my second lesson and I'm stuck waiting twenty minutes after the time they were suppose to be here. I called the depot twice and no one bothered to answer, I have no clue if the "instructor" will even show up today. The first lesson the "inscrutor" was 15 minutes late and I had to call the depot to find out if he was even coming at all.
