Previously, I took eight 90-minute lessons and two road tests at another school but unfortunately failed. The instructors here are professional, patient, and very methodical. I really liked the school. The prices are very reasonable, and personally, I had instructor Miguel, who did an excellent job preparing me. Before going to them, Before then, I tried to take the test twice without taking any classes because I thought I already knew how to drive from my country, but honestly, I underestimated the DMV. I 100% recommend them. If I could give Miguel more stars, I definitely would. The only thing that could be improved is the front desk service. Before scheduling my lessons with my instructor, I had to wait a bit. I understand it may be because they have a lot of clients due to how good they are, but I would appreciate it if the staff who answer the phone would return calls when they say they will. Read Less

I bought the lesson package. They switched instructors half way through the lessons. On the day of the road test a new instructor picked me up 40 minutes late with a car ive never driven. Then the instructor insisted on not allowing me to drive the car momentarily before my exam. Once i failed (first time taking the exam) the instructor was telling me how the 2 other instructors taught me badly and that i should buy another lesson package with them as my instructor. Be careful!! Don't risk yourself or a loved one by using Mercedes Driving School, they have a crazy instructor named George, that teaches his students to drive erratically and to run from an incident, after hitting my car he instructed his student to flee the scene of incident and refused to pull over. Had to call the NYPD. Also the office manager Elizabeth is aware of the situation and is handling it very professionally. I felt terrible for the student driver and can only imagine how terrified he felt and hoping his parents or guardians also take legal action.Read Less

It is almost impossible to find a driving school that offers lessons on how to drive a stick shift, so when I found Mercedes Driving School, I figured I had to at least try it out. The experience was amazing. The instructor made me feel completely comfortable with the car right away, helping me understand the workings of a manual shift and answering any questions I had about the car with patience and encouragement. I am proud to say that I can now drive a stick shift, and I learned it faster than I thought possible. Very good customer service. I did like George and Sid. I did not like Adriene. If you want only one instructor make sure you book as far in advance as possible. They have nice cars, I enjoyed the blue Toyota. The customer service is nice. The girl at the desk can be a bit slow on returning phone calls...But, that's my only complaint. That girl actually took the time to answer all my questions. And in the car, they we very precise. I passed the first time & so did the other 3 that I went to take the test with. These people know what they are doing. I am 19 years old. I have a lot of friends that still need to learn & i send all of them to this school. Read Less

I had the pleasure of having the class taught by Elissa. She definitely did much more than ""pop in the video and talk about the sheets."" She just had this zeal and enthusiasm and it visibly carried over into the class, making me feel compelled when she talked about real-life driving cases. I was pretty dissatisfied with my experience at Mercedes. As the other reviewer stated, George was a good instructor, but all others were terrible and the office deliberately tried to keep you from having George multiple times. Instructors aside, my biggest complaint was that the majority of their vehicles had serious issues, for example cars that desperately needed realignment. When, at the end of a lesson, I brought the fact that the car needed to be realigned up to an instructor (you had to turn the wheel about 45 degrees to the left to get the vehicle to drive straight) he told me that there was nothing wrong with the car, and lectured me for paying attention to the steering wheel. I found this insulting, and also think that it's really wrong to misguide a new driver when it comes to car maintenance. Obviously he didn't want me to believe that they're cars are buckets of junk, but had I been less experienced in car maintenance, it may have misguided me in the long term about proper car care. In a perfect world, wouldn't driver's ed also teach you a bit about how to own and maintain a vehicle? Read Less
