I was sent here from red Hook on the road. My first Instructor was Mario. I had him for 20 lessons. Then I had John for two lessons. Those two instructors are amazing if you can’t pass after doing lesson lessons with them……….. this ain’t for you!!!! When you take the CDL road test It’s not the same as a regular road test…. there are four parts you cannot go to the next part without passing the part before that.. 1st- pre-trip inspection ( everything on the bus, including under the hood under the bus behind the tires, the tires everything. Every single thing!!!) 2nd- in cabin inspection and air brake test (everything in the bus. Literally everything) 3rd- maneuvers ( straight line backing, offset and parallel parking) yes, you read that right you have to parallel parked the damn bus within these cones. 🙄 4th- driving including highway driving In total the road test is over two hours long if you do everything your first time and pass. A lot of people fail because they don’t study the pre-trip inspection. study it learn it put your heart into it. Get the CDL so you could get this 🤑💰💵. These instructors can only teach you so much you gotta do the work if you do that you’re gonna pass!!!! Thank you so much John and Mario. I’ve taken the no knowledge the training you gave me and freaking passed and I got my CDL. Thank you so much. It’s always been a dream of mine to get my CDL license and you and red hook on the road gave me the tools to make that happen!!!!! I put the hard work in!!!!!! I’m so happy I chose Northside Driving School for my CDL training! John, my instructor, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and knew exactly how to break things down in a way that made learning easier. Parallel parking was something I really struggled with, but thanks to his guidance and teaching methods, I was able to master it and pass my CDL Class B road test! I can’t recommend John and Northside Driving School enough—if you’re looking for the best training and a great instructor, this is the place to go! Read Less

Much success will follow you with the time an effort put in to achieving your goals. It's a bit pricey so have your coin ready to go. And pay attention to the tiny details. At first they had made a mistake with my schedule time but no worries, Maya booked me right away on the following schedule that same day. There was a snow storm the previous day so we couldn't take the truck out due to severe road conditions. The company booked me for the following week and Roger was my instructor. If you are serious about learning how to drive a tractor trailer, Roger is the right man for the job. I learned alot in just 2 hours time. Perfect attitude for the job. A+ Driving Instructor !! I can honestly say i had a the best instructor which was Roger. Very outgoing and down to earth and he had the patience to deal with me as a student how he did it i dnt know. I would recommend him to my friends and family. I give him a big thumbs up. He get into detail with any question i had even if it was a stupid question. Absolutely ridiculous group of instructors. There were so many rumors about this place being bad but I didn't listen. Only 2 of them were honestly genuinely good instructors and genuine men who took their time to teach you and made it worth your money, the rest either didn't care and just took you around in circles for a half hour(not even your full 45 minutes) not learning anything or were absolutely psychotic. Yelling at me because I didn't know after my 3rd lesson. Clearly I'm here to learn! That's why I'm paying. Never should a student have to feel like they are about to get hit by a grown married man. Absolute catastrophy. If you wanna deal with alpha males who don't care much and are doing this a part time job then take them, if you're someone who seriously wants to learn with 6 lessons. Not a chance. The ladies in the front desk are the biggest sweethearts and the owner seems like a really cool guy. Go to Drive A Rama that's a few blocks away on Forest Ave. instead you'll be saving yourself a headache. Read Less
