I had been in IT for over 30 years as a computer programmer. I had gone through layoffs during that time, but at my last job I felt like I had found the company I would retire from. They had other ideas. After almost 13 years, they told me to hit the road. So I did!
I enrolled in the CDT Career Training CDL Class A program a few months later. At 64 years old, I was a bit nervous about embarking on this journey, but I was tired of the IT world and needed a new challenge.
After my first day of class with Fernando, I knew I had made the right decision. From the office, to the yard, to the road, it was a great experience. It was not easy learning to handle a tractor-trailer, and I was often my own worst enemy. All of the instructors, however, were incredibly encouraging and helped me develop the confidence I needed. Chuck, Pat, Pete, Bill, Darin, Zack and the rest of the instructors are all knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted every student to succeed.
I graduated on 6/28/2026 and passed my road test on 7/15/2026. I can't thank everyone at the school enough. Obviously, the training is just a foundation to build on and there is still a long way to go, but starting this process with CDT has given me the confidence that I will succeed on the road!

When I started, I knew absolutely nothing about tractor-trailers, but the instructors made the learning process easy to understand and built my confidence every step of the way.
Fernando was an excellent classroom instructor who explained everything clearly. Out on the road, Bill, Lucas, Pat, and Pete were all patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted to see everyone succeed.
If you’re thinking about getting your CDL, this is a great school with instructors who truly care about preparing you to pass your test and start your career. Thank you to everyone for helping me achieve this milestone!

Very satisfied want to take my time to thank the whole staff down from the ladys in the office to the instructors they helped in many different ways. They will prep & tell you exactly when you are ready and trust me they know when i passed my test 1st try . You will feel so confident on the day of your test like i did

My experience at CDT was phenomenal from start to finish. Every instructor I worked with was excellent and truly cared about helping students succeed. Fernando, Bill, Jimmy, and Mike were all patient, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire process.
They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered questions without hesitation, and helped build confidence behind the wheel. I never felt rushed or overlooked, and they worked with me every step of the way until I was fully comfortable and prepared.
By the time I took my CDL road test, I honestly felt more than prepared, and I passed on the first try. That says a lot about the quality of training they provide.
You can tell the instructors here have a lot of real experience and genuinely want their students to do well. If you’re thinking about getting your CDL, I highly recommend CDT. They made the entire experience professional, encouraging, and successful.

My experience at CDT was exceptional from start to finish. The instructors are what truly make this school stand out.
On my first day, Pete was incredibly patient with me while I was still getting used to the clutch and figuring things out. Mike also took his time and made sure I understood what I was doing instead of just going through the motions.
Fernando made sure I stayed sharp and alert at all times — constantly reminding me to check my mirrors and stay aware of everything around me. Jimmy helped me stay calm and taught me not to panic no matter what situation came up on the road. Lucas was very informative and broke things down in a way that really made sense. Chuck was great to work with as well. And Pat did an excellent job preparing us for the mock road test, which made the real test feel much more manageable. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge Zack, the classroom time went by so fast because I was enjoying the videos and stories. Also Zack if you read this, feel free to share my “rear view mirror” story 🤣
Because of their training and support, I passed my road test and feel confident starting this new chapter in my career. If you’re serious about getting your CDL and want instructors who truly care, I highly recommend CDT.

Great school! I graduated on 6/8/18 and passed my road test with flying colors the following day! Got my CDL A thanks to this school. The ladies at the office are great and all the instructors are the best, they definitely know what they are doing. I recommend this school to anyone who us serious about getting their CDL license!!!

Today I called to ask about a training program for someone like me;
Drove a semi "unlicensed" 40 years ago, just a few times while working for a family construction company.
Two days ago I went and passed DMV CDL Exam;Core, Air Brakes, Combination, Doubles/Triples.
Linda at Commercial answered the phone when I called.....
She explained how Commercial can tailor make a training program (pay as you go) that meets my needs and will help me get my CDL..
WHAT A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION.
I EXPECT GREAT THINGS!!!!

I usually dont write reviews but in this case its deserved. I originally got my B class with this school years ago. Never wanted my A license but circumstances changed, so i went back to CDT and got my A. (3/15/17) Both times i passed my first time. These guys have GREAT instructors and very good equipment. All the guys i've encounterd at CDT are super nice/helpful. Thank you Commercial Driver training! And anyone who needs a trucking school, this is the place to go!!!!!!!!!

I went there in the late 80's it was a great school then staff was knowledgeable helpful and loved that you had the choice to do yard work than go on the streets if you thought you needed to practice that.
Wish I could have stayed in the industry but after nearly 25 years my body fell apart and my health got to me .
Thank you I still think of my old class room teacher talking about going to see Tilly the waitress at the truck stop lol ! Greatest bunch of driver trainers I worked with made me ready for almost anything but chaining up :-(

I have to say, "hands Down the Best CDL School"5 years ago I got my class B through them, and now I just graduated from them with my Class A. I have one regret. I shouldn't have waited so long. I highly recommend this school to anyone trying to get into the field of Trucking. You won't be disappointed.

I had been in IT for over 30 years as a computer programmer. I had gone through layoffs during that time, but at my last job I felt like I had found the company I would retire from. They had other ideas. After almost 13 years, they told me to hit the road. So I did!

Never wanted my A license but circumstances changed, so i went back to CDT and got my A. (3/15/17) Both times i passed my first time. These guys have GREAT instructors and very good equipment. I went there in the late 80's it was a great school then staff was knowledgeable helpful and loved that you had the choice to do yard work than go on the streets if you thought you needed to practice that.

I have to say, "hands Down the Best CDL School"5 years ago I got my class B through them, and now I just graduated from them with my Class A. I have one regret. I shouldn't have waited so long. I highly recommend this school to anyone trying to get into the field of Trucking. You won't be disappointed.
