I can't say enough good things about this program and the people that dedicate their time to running it. These are all professional driving VOLUNTEERS that donate their time to your help your teens become better drivers. The content of both the classroom and behind the wheel portions of the class are top notch. This is a full two-day course of intense, hands-on, real-world scenario instruction that your teens can immediately use to help avoid an accident. They focus on accident prevention and maintaining control of the car, something that all drivers (adults and teens alike) can definitely use. I would highly recommend this course to the parents of any teen driver, and will absolutely be sending my younger child through it in another year. This is an incredible gift and experience that I highly recommend you give to yourself and your children. At first I thought the cost was a bit much but looking back I'd pay triple the price for what we received and its worth every penny! I cannot begin to tell you how beyond satisfied both myself and my son are that we took this class together. My son is a much more confident driver now and I feel much better about him being safe and knowing exactly what to do when he's behind the wheel. He kept asking over that weekend if he could go back to volunteer and if there were other courses he could take. That's how much he enjoyed not only the class but the people that run it. The classroom sessions were extremely informative and the hands on driving was amazing and so much fun! The course pushes you and your teen way outside your comfort levels so you TRULY understand real life situations and how to overcome them. I'll also say that I have been driving for over 30 years and I have completely changed the way I drive since I've taken this class. Outstanding driving instruction and the facilities at VIR allow teens to develop critical skill sets and experience situations that you just don't see in the mandated "driver's education". And the skid pad is also just great FUN! But this course is MUCH MORE than that - the curriculum is designed to improve communication and best practices for both teen and parent. There is an emphasis on safety in real world driving - which unfortunately is a very dangerous proposition (as evidenced by the alarmingly high incidence of teen fatalities in this country). Dan and Chuck truly care about each and every teen and are passionate about making a change in what is a broken driver education system. THANKS GUYS!! Absolutely exceeded my expectations! These folks truly WANT your teen and your entire family to "arrive alive" every time they drive. The driving tasks they have the students perform are beneficial when they get into real world situations. It is evident that they want what is best for each and every student.
