Well I can say I am not happy about the way Ms. Julie is handling things and the policy she is saying she is knowledgeable of. I read some of these comments and see how unfair she is treating my son and I versus some of these comments. I also read a comment where someone felt unheard, overtalked which was the same for me. Ms Julie then stated I was yelling, as I was just trying to explain to her as she was twisting my words up. I was just trying speak to her and provide the correct information as she was over talking me and being placed on hold several times. I would have to start the conversation over because she would state things that I did not say and or that was not true. For 1, during our conversation I stated My son is only 16 years old. She then stated Your son is not 15 years old, he can’t get a temporary permit at 15 years old. I let her know I didn’t not say my son was 15 years old. (But just to let anyone know, teenagers can get a temporary permit at 15 years old 6 months. I am not sure why she stated you can’t get a temporary permit at 15 years old). However, my son’s birthday is this July and he will be 17 years old. During the conversation she stated multiple things that was not true and put the blame on my 16 years old son and I as I tried to explain multiple times the situation. Today, should have been my son’s late day for the driving portion. But unfortunately that is not the case, due to miscommunication on the instructors end as well as my son and my end. I planned to have him complete with his in class courses as well as his in car portion before July, his birthday. My husband and I planned to take our son out for the rest of this month June to have him ready for July to test before his birthday July 18th. This is also his senior year of high school and was hoping he could start driving himself to school, practice and his games for school this upcoming fall.I have made sure I was home each time the instructor came out just to make sure everything went smoothly for my son, as he is not a kid who will advocate for himself much, and or just spoke up to adults when things are not right. My son is a go with the flow type of kid, and not very aggressive or argumentative towards adults, which he shouldn’t be. I also just went with the flow on this past Monday June 22, 2026 when we were told my my son could not drive with his paper temp. But Tuesday June 23rd the information was different then what was stated on June 22nd. I understand people have to be paid, gas is high, Etc., Which is why I asked the questions I did on Monday June 22nd when the instructor was at my home and on June 23rd over the text messages. To avoid the instructor coming to our home being unable to take my son out, to avoid my son missing his driving sessions, and for me not to have to pay a cancellation fee. But Today June 24, 2026 there were multiple things that were not stated truly and policies that changed back and forth. I am not sure if this is the way they get some people to pay fees and for them to make extra money off of certain people. But it’s not fair to me and most importantly not fair to my son. Please make sure to always be with your children when the instructor is at the home, have the policy with your, and the states information as well. I hate my son had to experience this as this should be a great day for us. As my daughter was killed in a car accident recently and it has taken some time for My son and I to make this big step towards my son driving, as we have been a little nervous about him going out into this cruel world driving. I pray other have a great experience. My son did have a great experiences with his in-class instructor as well has he has with his in-car instructor. My son didn’t have anything bad to say about neither of his teachers. So I will take that. I have also had a good experience with the instructor from the conversation we had. I don’t know where the lack of communication came in as I am very good with communication, asking questions and making sure things get done correctly. Read Less

I failed my driver's test on the first try and had to take an abbreviated course. All the other schools offering this service for adult drivers were either closed or completely booked, so that's where Driver's Ed Academy came in. Sadly, the instructor was beyond unprofessional. He was loud, abrasive, disruptive, and overall a horrible individual to learn from, let alone drive with. The two lessons of two hours each day totaling four hours all together felt like weeks. The days consisted of this person screaming at me, constantly telling me to start, slow down, stop when I'm already coming to a slow, go when I've barely had any time to check my surroundings ( He would often check for me which I feel defeats the point of DRIVER'S EDUCATION) and hurry me across every single road, intersection, and crossway. There was also a time when a small pickup truck was quickly pulling out of a driveway in a residential area and almost collided with us. I spotted this and corrected my path so that we would be out of the way of being hit. ( Keep in mind it was pulling out fast and there was not time to simply stop unfortunately) I did this and immediately, he snatches the wheel from me and starts loudly shouting at the top of his lungs about us slightly touching the grass. He even admitted that we would have collided had it not be for me noticing, but he still felt the need to almost actually make us crash by forcefully grabbing the wheel from me. In summary, I am unsure if this older guy that I believe goes by the name of David handles all driving related matters at this school or not, because from what I have seen from other reviews, there does seem to be other teachers here of value. But as far as abbreviated training goes, I highly, HIGHLY recommend you go elsewhere. Yes, getting your license is exciting and a huge milestone, but it doesn't have to suck. If you're in the area, please bide your time and wait it out. I personally received all my actual driver training from the AAAA International Driving School and the guy who taught me there was the complete inverse of everything David was. I'd recommend them any day over Driver's Ed Academy. Read Less

I received training at the Driver Ed Academy and passed the driver test successfully. I was trained by an instructor named David. I think he taught us how to drive properly as prescribed by law. The fact that he is little quiet and focus on driver's safety may be a disadvantage for social people, but for shame Asians, it is an advantage. Conselor Julie is very friendly. Since I'm not good at English, I wanted to transfer various information in writing, but she readily accepted my request without telling me various things about the rules. Due to personal reasons, I needed Julie's help even after paying all the bills, and even then, she responded very kindly. Driver Ed academy is a very responsible company. Read Less

The Driver Ed Academy had been recommend to us by a couple of friends so we chose to send our two sons through their program. Our boys each had a very pleasant experience. They both had Dave as their instructor and said that he was very patience, friendly and a great teacher. From a parent's perspective, below are the things that made this such a great experience: - A lot of classroom instruction times to choose from - Very short lag time between when classroom instruction ended and behind the wheel sessions were scheduled - Various behind the wheel times to choose from - Flexibility on pick up location. My son had an event at school he needed to attend and Dave was able to pick him up at school two times, which was very convenient for us I highly recommend the Driver Ed Academy. Read Less

The first week was ok but it seems like after the instructor had my money, he didn't care if I learned to drive/ passed my test or not. He was very rude, impatient, snappy and sarcastic to an extent that I had to go off on him about it once and he didn't explain things well but got mad when I didn't know things. He also got frustrated because I wasn't retaining things the second week which is a little understandable but I'm not fortunate enough to have help with driving outside of lessons so a little patience would've been nice.
