I did rescind my initial review based off an internal discussion we had and what I thought was a mutual understanding.
The Instructors do open book tests you are all but given a degree here. It’s NOT challenging in any facet. That’s why the technicians go fall flat on their faces at shops. You don’t need a $20k+ degree to assert yourself as mechanically inclined. Most shops will teach you and you can probably get the equal amount of knowledge off of YouTube. Save your money, you’ll be paying for tools and struggling the first 2-3 years in addition to student loans. Just not worth it in my honest opinion.

I went to NCDT for Combination Welding in 2011. As long as you are serious you can develop the skills to walk out the door and make between $19 -$25 hr to start. Employers are willing to work with you especially if you went to trade school Try to be the best you can be with bare wire Mig (GMAW, TIG (GTAW) Stick (SMAW) & Flux-core (FCAW / FCAW-S) The more you can master the more money you can make. When you get in the field most employers do not want to spend time, which translates to money, training you on things you should've learned before hand. For example using a cutting torch properly. Or a plasma cutter. Reading and interpreting prints. They'll work with you a bit on the prints because they can be tricky. But know ALL of the weld symbols like you know your name. Using an Iron worker or a horizontal band saw. Critical components that your employer will happy you already cut your teeth on. Because when someone else has to step in and do something for you it can be degrading. Don't spend all of your welding time on Stick welding unless you are certain that's the process you're going to be running when you get out. I say this because I put more time in Stick welding and not enough time into TIG and out of position Flux core welding. It was a lot harder in the work force to try and build up what I needed. This is serious and while you spend a lot of money to get the opportunity to learn hands on, take advantage of what time you have at New Castle. I've had a few jobs since graduating but because Of what I achieved at NCDT I can guarantee no matter what or wherever I go in this country I will have no problem finding work. Thanks Rex for giving me the chance and yes I paid off my loan!!! Very affordable payment next to what I was making. I'm thinking about coming back for my Class B CDL. Great school and the memories of going are fantastic And I didn't miss one day.

I loved the hands on training at New Castle School of Trades. The classes were practical and I got real experience on the tools right away. Great trade school for anyone wanting skilled trades skills.

I can’t express how grateful I am for New Castle School of Trades. Despite the uncertainty, I chose to invest in my education with NCST in their Automotive Technology daytime program. From the front office staff to the instructors, I felt welcomed, I felt heard and I felt valued not just as a student, but as a person as well. Just remember- it is what YOU make out of it. If you wish to have a great schooling experience like I did, be open minded and communicate that with the school staff so they can better accommodate you. I’ll never forget my time at NCST.

I got out of the HVAC program after 1 week. It was very clear I would likely not get the education needed for this field. Instructor let class out early every night, sat and played on his phone and gave no explanation or demonstrations to what was needed to be done and to be honest probably didn't care. Who could or would pay 12,000 dollars for that? Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

My fiance went there 2016-2017. For $12,000 He got a C+ education (one of his instructors had never even held a job and had no experience in the field he was teaching BESIDES his schooling from NCST) ...
My fiance went there 2016-2017. For $12,000 He got a C+ education (one of his instructors had never even held a job and had no experience in the field he was teaching BESIDES his schooling from NCST) and their "great job placement program" did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in helping him get a job. Absolute waste of time and money.

I enjoyed my experience at New Castle School of Trades. I highly recommend any student to come if interested in learning a new trade. The instructors are always very supportive and eager to help their students. If you have any questions or concerns they will help you in any way possible. I enjoyed learning about Welding. I had zero knowledge about welding when I started. I've learned that I absolutely love it and can't wait to begin my career as a welder.

I originally started off going to a different college but because it wasn't hands on, I felt lost. So a friend mentioned NCST. Definitely something I would recommend to anyone who likes hands on experience. I decided to go through the Automotive class, my first day they handed us an engine and told us to dive in, I literally had no clue what I was doing, but six engines later I can tell you every part of it. The evening instructors really made my time here something worth while as did the entire staff. They all go above and beyond for you if you ask.

New Castle school of Trades cares about one thing, and that is GETTING YOUR MONEY. They have some decent teachers, but the administration doesn't care about you. They make it easy to get in, but after that any financial or administrative issues you have become one big hassle. They stall, and sometimes just plain lie. Don't waste your time!

The Instructors do open book tests you are all but given a degree here. It’s NOT challenging in any facet. That’s why the technicians go fall flat on their faces at shops. You don’t need a $20k+ degree to assert yourself as mechanically inclined. Most shops will teach you and you can probably get the equal amount of knowledge off of YouTube. Save your money, you’ll be paying for tools and struggling the first 2-3 years in addition to student loans. Just not worth it in my honest opinion.

I originally started off going to a different college but because it wasn't hands on, I felt lost. So a friend mentioned NCST. Definitely something I would recommend to anyone who likes hands on experience. I decided to go through the Automotive class, my first day they handed us an engine and told us to dive in, I literally had no clue what I was doing, but six engines later I can tell you every part of it.
