Was reminded of my experiences here from a few years ago and thought I should mention them. Poor quality everything, not enough instructors and if you aren't getting your class A then they don't want to teach you. Classroom training is watching a bunch of short movies in a classroom that has poor ventilation and too many people. Yard training is even worse as usually it was 2 trucks for 20-30 people. I got screamed at by an instructor because in his words a class B is not a real license and he has too many other people to worry about than a fake license. Honestly I'm surprised that they're able to get their people a license. Read Less

This is a great school with great instructors. You learn from the instructors but also making a group and work together on the material. The yard trucks are yard trucks, they do the job for training but also used by students who have never drove a truck and manual so they get beat up. The road trucks are nicer and all of the trucks work great for practice. There are students who are there to learn and there are students that are just there to be there . I worked with a group who wanted to learn, helped each other out and devoted to moving on into this new career. With the help of the instructors and other students I was the first student of my class to pass on the first try. Thank you again S&S, John, Ryan, Art, Mark and my class mates. Read Less

Horrible Horrible School! I signed up here with the intentions of giving it all, paid in full day 1. After the 1st weekend of reviewing expired material with norm in the classroom, we were sent out to acquire our permits the following weekend on our own. I didnt pass my test, and nothing we review was relative to the the current testing question. So after continuous weekends or driving over an hour and most of the time being left in the lot with no instructors to wait our turn and do some backing moves, i had enough. I put in way too much time missed our on my weekends with my daughter, wasted money and time only to get the only driving and backing experience at the end of the day when they would ask me to park the trucks. Very poorly managed and ran, no current training information, left unattended, and continued to get new students added every weekend. It was a huge waste of time and money, but as i would complain about training and ask about my money back i was just told to come finish my 5 hours. I still don't have a permit, my medical card is now expired, the job i was looking into is no longer available, and because i paid in full and wasn't a student making payments they don't care or reach out because its not money i owe them. Its sad because i heard nothing but positive things, and experienced nothing but bad and unprofessional. I would recommend NOT going there. It was nothing but a horrible attempt at being a CDL school. Read Less

THIS IS YOUR SCHOOL!!! Where do I start - I was extremely hesitant about being able to obtain my CDL on my own, therefore I registered for Smith & Solomon's school. From day 1 in the classroom with Norm, I knew that I made the right choice. He prepared me for my permit test which I passed with no problem. From there, I went to the yard which is led by Len and his team, Andrew, Melvin and Will. Let me tell you these guys are great and come with a wealth of experience and knowledge they are more than willing to share with their students. If you listen to what they tell you, you too can receive your "golden ticket"! I highly recommend this school for their excellent teaching staff - see you on the road! Read Less

After 20 years in the automotive field, I decided to drive trucks for a living. I went to an open house one night at the Norristown location. After 30 mins talking to Tara I signed up to start another chapter of my life. All three instructors during the entire time I was enrolled made sure everyone was keeping up on new skills needed in the world of trucking. George, Will, and Jose made sure I understood why I was learning each new skill. When it was time to take my test, I felt pretty good that I had been given all the training possible. Landed at new career in tanker truck driving right out of school. I would, and have recommended this school to anyone that wants to start a new career. I still hear each of their voices in my head each day while I drive down the highway. Read Less

But it can be lax and out of the eight hours maybe an hour is used with the trucks. Jose is excellent but he is one guy to teach twenty or so students. While the others only take students on the road. Read Less
