Absolutely amazing experience!! Excellent instructors and very knowledgeable and passionate about training everyone properly!! They go above and beyond in all aspects!!!! Would recommend to ANYONE wanting to get into the trucking industry!! Juan and Randy are very good at doing what they do and I can't thank them enough!!!!!!

Just finished up my 160 hour training, and loved everyday of it. The instructors were very insightful, answered every question in a way so that everyone would have a clear understanding. The way they prepare you for real world work is miles ahead of anything you'll get through a book taught environment. Highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to get the knowledge and break into Diesel! Thanks Velocity!

I graduated from Superior Drivers Institute (SDI) in Columbia, Tennessee, and I can confidently say that the training I received exceeded every expectation.
My instructor, Randy, was absolutely outstanding. With years of real-world experience, he didn’t just teach us how to pass the CDL test — he taught us how to be safe, skilled, and professional drivers. Randy thoroughly trained me in every aspect of the job, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, tractor and trailer inspections, proper coupling and uncoupling procedures, and all backing maneuvers — straight-line, offset, and 90-degree backing. He made sure I truly understood not just what to do, but why it matters for safety and professionalism on the road.
His instruction was clear, patient, and extremely hands-on. He took the time to ensure I was confident and competent behind the wheel of a semi tractor-trailer. The skills I gained under his guidance prepared me for real-world driving — not just the test.
Now that I’ve completed orientation with my new company and spoken with other drivers about their training experiences, I appreciate my time at SDI even more. Hearing about the lack of preparation some received only reinforced how fortunate I was to train under Randy. The level of thoroughness and professionalism at this school truly stands out.
The entire staff creates a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Judy in the front office was always friendly, organized, and incredibly helpful throughout the process.
If you are considering earning your CDL, I highly recommend SDI — and especially Randy as an instructor. The training is comprehensive, practical, and truly sets you up for success in your driving career.

I had an excellent experience at Superior Drivers Institute. From the very beginning, the staff created a supportive and encouraging learning environment that made each day productive and worthwhile. I genuinely looked forward to attending class because of the positive atmosphere and the quality of instruction provided.
Randy was my instructor, and he consistently demonstrated professionalism, experience, and patience. He went above and beyond to ensure his students understood the material and felt confident behind the wheel. His reliability and dedication to student success truly stood out throughout my training.
The trucks were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, which made the hands-on learning experience both comfortable and efficient. From start to finish each day, the team was supportive and committed to helping students succeed.
I highly recommend Superior Drivers Institute to anyone seeking thorough, professional CDL training in a supportive environment.

I attended SDL in Columbia to get my CDL A. The online learning portion was simple and easy to get through. I did most of it on my cell phone. When it came to the actual driving portion of the training, my instructor, Dale, was the best. Dale had the patience of Job, knew how to help me figure things out to overcome obstacles, and had the humor of a stand-up comedian. He was able to bring the seriousness of the training, mastery of the required skills, and a safety-first approach, while maintaining a relaxing and enjoyable environment. I have already recommended two students to SDI and told them to request Dale as their instructor or refuse to sign up. I passed my skills test with the state tester on the first try. In honor of Dale, I will post a picture of my "Fake Truck" doing "Fake Truck" things.

This is the worst "school" experience I have ever had without a doubt. You are not taught anything the whole time you attend the "school." The instructor is the worst part. He is one of the biggest jerks you will ever meet. He is very rude. He does nothing but sit behind his desk and talk about anything but driving school or he will sit at his desk and sleep. If you are looking to get your commercial drivers license go somewhere else. This is a big waste of time and definitely not worth what it costs.

I graduated from Superior Drivers Institute (SDI) in Columbia, Tennessee, and I can confidently say that the training I received exceeded every expectation.
My instructor, Randy, was absolutely outstanding. With years of real-world experience, he didn’t just teach us how to pass the CDL test — he taught us how to be safe, skilled, and professional drivers. Randy thoroughly trained me in every aspect of the job, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, tractor and trailer inspections, proper coupling and uncoupling procedures, and all backing maneuvers — straight-line, offset, and 90-degree backing. I attended SDL in Columbia to get my CDL A. The online learning portion was simple and easy to get through. I did most of it on my cell phone. When it came to the actual driving portion of the training, my instructor, Dale, was the best. This is the worst "school" experience I have ever had without a doubt. You are not taught anything the whole time you attend the "school." The instructor is the worst part. He is one of the biggest jerks you will ever meet. He is very rude. He does nothing but sit behind his desk and talk about anything but driving school or he will sit at his desk and sleep.
