Breanna got the ball rolling. Brennan made it roll faster. Troy kicked in the turbo. I was originally supposed to start August 25th. Then they got me moved up to August 4th. When Troy found out that I arrived 10 days early, he got me started July 28th. Now I'm going to work the same day I would have started school. They made the process really easy. I just called them and they told me the companies that I could go to work for. I had a job offer from Covenant within about 1 day. The first week is super boring. The only part that made it fun was picking on Marsha. Week 2 is when the fun really begins because it's when you start driving the trucks. Tim and Lester were great instructors for week 2. I especially liked Lester because he spent plenty of time in the truck with the students. Tim seem to be a really well-balanced instructor. Week 3 is also fun but also hard because the 90 is not the easiest maneuver to learn. Bill was a great instructor and a funny guy. If you mess up he'll make you pop your own hand or he'll make one of your classmates pop your hand. I hope you get Jeff as a road instructor. He's got some really great stories that will make you laugh. I have to say that overall he was my favorite instructor of the whole thing. Just remember clutch neutral clutch shift. I failed my road test the first time around because I forgot to turn the truck off during the brake test. All the instructors were very encouraging to not let it get to me and not give up. I took my second test with Robert and contrary to student rumor he is nowhere near the hard guy that they think he is. He seems really laid-back and enjoyable. The excitement of the instructors after I passed made me feel like all that hard work was worth it. Just remember pre-trip pre-trip pre-trip, and bring chocolate covered custard filled donuts. Your instructors will thank you. Update from the real world - they told us before we left here that when we got to the real world we would see that we got a superior education. I thought they were just patting themselves on the back. They weren't though. Other people spent just as much on their education and they can't drive a manual. I just got my CDL from this school. I can't thank all the instructors enough from David, Tim,Lester,Bill,Bert,Sam,Robert I really do appreciate you guy's.If anyone ever thinks about attending this school do it you will be in good hands and please stick to the basics when practicing your maneuvers and study that pre trip. You will be given alot information in those 3 weeks so be prepared. And whatever you do please don't Jackknife Bill trucks because you will hear from him lol. Read Less

Awesome school, staff will do anything to see you make it through but if you don’t want it you won’t succeed, it’s a crash course and you have to be willing to put in the effort. If you want to drive trucks, have half a brain, and a whole lot of determination, I highly recommend TTDS. Read Less

Loved my 3 weeks at this school. The staff is great and very knowledgeable .They gave me the proper tools and knowledge to not only pass the school exams and graduate in 3rd week but to pass my CDL challenge with the state official on my last day so I could obtain my CDL license I met a lot of great people in my class and had a blast .I can't wait to pay the school a visit with my truck one day .Very cool experience. I have to be honest. It is a lot thrown at you at once. Long hours, studying constantly, nerve-wrecking and frustrating even......but.......that's part of the process to make you a better equipped and safer driver on the roads. These guys and ladies are awesome! This school was awesome! All you have to do is focus, listen to the instructors, and study. When you commit yourself like I did, then you will come out of here either with a huge smile on your face like I did, or crying from being overwhelmed at what you've learned and accomplished in 3 weeks(like I also did 🙄). I had the best experience at TTDS louie was a great guy and he made sure you had what you needed. Right off the bat chris was very down to earth and did not care to help you with anything. Overall, the instructors are awesome. If you listen in class, pay attention and do what they tell you, you WILL get your CDL. I cannot say enough good things about certain ones on their staff. The director himself is a very cool guy, and more than willing to come out of the office and help you. They will share not only "classroom" knowledge, but give you good insight into what you can expect when you hit the real world of driving. The office staff are wonderful and helpful, they will work with you in difficult situations and in my opinion, they have gone above and beyond what you'd expect. On a side note, if you don't do well in a fast paced "cram" style environment, then it may not be your best bet. But they will work with you if you need extra time on something. From day one starting on June 5th I have had a great experience at Tennessee Truck Driving School. Starting with my first week in the class room Chris showed real concern on all the students passing and helped in every way to make sure the students was getting what he was teaching. He put real life stories to the questions he was asked and this realy helped us all. If any student wasn' t sure about the test he paired them up with another student to help quiz each other ...and it stuck in our heads better that way. On week two my instructors Matt and Dom taught in a way that was so easy to understand that we was able to do what was asked of us with ease. There was one student who was having trouble, and Matt and Dom went above and beyond to help that student. I was truly impressed with their act of selflessness. This student was by far the worst in the class, and in my opinion became close to being the best student, because of these two instructors, Now that's a damn good instructor. Without these instructors the whole class would have never made it to the third week. Week three my instructors Drew,Mike,Robert, and Dustin, have done a great job. Drew and Robert showed a much easier way for backing and parallel parking. To my surprise it made much better sense when they showed us how to do these obstacles. My driving instructor made me a better driver helping me get out of my own head and out of my own way, and learn a new job and a safe way of driving. He took the nerves out of it for me and showed me I could do this, when he could of just said no this isn't for you, l.o.l. I really do appreciate this. As long as I stay out of my own way I will have my CDL on friday 6/23/17. My instructors have given me all my training and done a hell of a job. I have said all this to say although it may not be my business or my place, I, Michael Blair feel strongly that our instructors should be rewarded for all their great jobs that they do, putting in 12-13 hours a day and volunteering to stay over to help any and all students, by way of a bonus. Overall experience was good all of the instructors where knowledgeable and helpful. Chris my class room instructor for week one was knowledgeable and was great to work with. Matt and Dom week two skills instructors where awesome and helpful. Drew week three skills was awesome very helpful and was great in the way he explained things to make things easier to understand. Robert during week three was always available to help with anything I asked of him he has 20+ years experience in the trucking industry and really knows how to break things down and put it in to simple terms that anyone can understand and put you at ease. Mike was my road instructor and he did a very good job taking a people who never been in a truck before out on the road and teaching them the skills and techniques needed to succeed in the trucking industry. The only thing I really found any fault in was I had some questions pertaining to job placement and I had to going back asking about them when I was told they would get back to me on things I had asked them about that experience could have been better but overall I would still recommend them as a great way to get into the trucking industry with no upfront money out of pocket. TTDS is a great school. Awesome friendly staff. Louie was super energetic right off the bat when we came in to talk to them. He was able to answer all our questions. The trainers are all very knowledgeable. They care about there students. You get out of it what you put into it. The key to success there is take the cotton out your ears and put it in your mouth. Listen to what they tell you, study, take it serious. They won't steer you wrong (No pun intended). It's all about s...afety first. The best part about it once you graduate and get your license, you don't have to worry about finding a job. They do job placement before you even start. So you are guaranteed a job as long as you do what your supposed to. And they got your back down the road if you ever need help finding a new company. The most intense training ever but well worth it. When you graduate you will know how to drive a tractor and trailer. Extremely boring. Outdated equipment. Instructor turnover more than the tractor tires. There are much better places in the area to train for your CDL. In fact, their test questions are out of the TN guide you get at the DMV. Save your money and go someplace else. Read Less
