I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Benavides Driving School. While we paid for services in good faith, the communication and handling of additional fees and requirements felt very unprofessional and extortionate as they are holding the certificate for more money when I paid several months in advance in full. I am ending up paying over $700 to get the behind the wheel certificate. Beware of their pricing scams.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Benavides Driving School. While we paid an overprice fee for services in good faith, the communication and handling of additional fees and requirements when going through the local Marine Military
Academy (MMA) felt very unprofessional extortive. They were to coordinate with MMA for the training and instead, used this school arrangement to charge all kinds of extra fees. I am ending up paying over $700 just to get the behind the wheel certificate.

Mr. B was one of the best teachers I've ever had. The most caring and understanding person ever. He explained everything very well and made it very easy to understand with a few jokes here and there to keep us awake. If I had to do it over again I would. Nobody is the class ever had a failing grade. Highly recommend!!

I’ll never get tired of recommending Benavides Driving School. They truly are the best in the business. Their instructors are truly passionate about their job. The 6 hours spent there flew by. I didn’t think I would actually enjoy spending a Saturday taking a mandatory course. I highly recommend them!

Before I enrolled i had had a learners driving license for almost 2 1/2 years. I was told before i enrolled that i did not need to take the first 3 hours of class because they are only required for a certificate to obtain a learners permit (which i already had). Other than the first 2 classes, i attended every session except one. When i was told i needed to make it up, that one class was the only one i was told i needed. I finished the course and went to recieve my certificate of completion, but low and behold, i could not recieve it because i missed those first 2 classes. I tried explaining several times my story to the lady in charge, and she was in fact the one that said i did not need the first 2 classes. She eventually said that i still had to make them up contrary to her prior statements. As well as this, the instructors are not very knowledgable, approachable, and do not explain everything you need to know for the final test of the class (written by bds). On the final test, almost half of the questions were not covered in class, and had nothing to do with driving in general. One odd i questio i can remember asked about newton's law.

Unfortunately I have to give this company at least 1 star, otherwise they would get 0. This driving school is also the worst Harlingen location I've ever been to. The woman at the counter is very rude and disrespectful. She is not very helpful as she would not answer any of my questions. i told her that I did not appreciate her attitude and she then proceeded to tell me I should take the stick out of my A**. Needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place should be closed down.

Mr. B was one of the best teachers I've ever had. The most caring and understanding person ever. He explained everything very well and made it very easy to understand with a few jokes here and there to keep us awake. If I had to do it over again I would. Nobody is the class ever had a failing grade. Highly recommend!!

I’ll never get tired of recommending Benavides Driving School. They truly are the best in the business. Their instructors are truly passionate about their job. The 6 hours spent there flew by. I didn’t think I would actually enjoy spending a Saturday taking a mandatory course. I highly recommend them!

Before I enrolled i had had a learners driving license for almost 2 1/2 years. Unfortunately I have to give this company at least 1 star, otherwise they would get 0. This driving school is also the worst Harlingen location I've ever been to. The woman at the counter is very rude and disrespectful. She is not very helpful as she would not answer any of my questions. i told her that I did not appreciate her attitude and she then proceeded to tell me I should take the stick out of my A**. Needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place should be closed down.
