This is indeed a very rude instructor. I should have listened to the reviews. I took the driving test with her first, she failed me because I didn't get the parallel parking, which is fair. (However I've heard from many people, even some on the reviews on here, that even though you fail parallel parking, you can still pass. But I guess that's not the case for her). Anyway, I decided that I would try and do the 2 classes with her to see if I would improve. Worst decision I ever made. When we were practicing, I couldn't tell you the amount of times she yelled at me. She is very very aggressive. EXTREMELY RUDE. It always seemed like she just wanted to correct me while driving for the sake of doing it, and not necessarily because I was doing something wrong. For example, she told me to increase my speed while driving on the highway (mind you, her car is a lot bigger than the one I'm used to driving, so I tried to drive at a speed I could control to avoid an accident) so I did, one second later she says I'm driving above the speed limit (which was 45) but when I looked at the speedometer, it was at 42. She always seemed to be correcting me on thing I wasn't even doing. It felt so random at times. On another occasion, while we were praticing in the park, she would push me to increase my speed. Then when I tried to do it the second time we were there to show her that I learn from my mistakes, she yelled at me saying I should slow down, basically telling me I didn't know how to drive. On another occasions, when she was teaching me parallel parking, the second time I had done it, I did it exactly right. But I had given a greater distance of space to the curb than she had like, so she told me I failed it. But today, when I took my driving test at the DPS (first try) I had done just that, and the lady passed me. I asked her if the curb distance was okay, she said it was perfect. So either Ila, had no idea what she was talking about or she just wanted me to keep taking lessons with her so she could get more money. Because she was always correcting me on the I had been trained to do or things I didn't do! Another example of her rudeness, is that usually when I am driving, she was giving me corrections. And in this occasion, I had reached a stop sign while she was still talking. And as I moved to continue driving while she kept speaking, she yelled "STOP! STOP! I'M SPEAKING! I'M SPEAKING!" Which frightened me so much, because it was so random and she had never done that before. Usually she talks while I drive, regardless of a stop sign or not, so I was very confused. She truly made driving a miserable experience for me. Overall I would say take you chance with a trusted driving school, but definitely go to the DPS for your test. Don't waste $80 on tests and classes for a teacher who only wants to collect money. I went to the DPS, didn't use any of her useless corrections, and passed on my first try! She was a total waste of time and money. Another thing about her is that she is never clear about what she wants. When I came for my first class with her, she had told me the day before to bring the $80 for that day. But when I reached, she states that she needed payment for both classes on the spot. My mom had to drive to the bank to get it right then since it was so last minute. Ila is never clear and doesn't explain her instructions very well. And after every practice, my mom would ask her what I needed improvement in, and Ila would always shrug and say "everything" while looking at me to talk. She was never able to answer that question comfortably. Like she didn't have a real answer. Please don't waste your time with this woman.
