By far the worst driving school ever. I was a student here. The owner, Mr.Vickers is highly disrespectful. He made snarky and inappropriate comments towards me that made me very uncomfortable. He is very rude to me and my parents as well as many other customers. He is not professional AT ALL! I’d highly recommend if you see this to find a different driving school no matter how close this one may be it won’t be worth the money! Don’t waste a dime or any of your time here! This place is a joke. It has terrible services. I very rarely write bad reviews, but I have to mention that Mr. Vickers is the owner and is very rude and disrespectful. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS PLACE. He mis- treated my daughter and yelled at her for not knowing how to drive in her very first lesson. Wasn’t that the reason, why she was in the school? The in-person lessons were also a bunch of videos, that they could have watched online. The teachers are never there on time. At the time of enrollment they assure you that your child will learn to drive, but they never take the necessary steps. I had precisely booked the appointment for the driving lesson with another instructor, but instead Mr. Vickers just chooses to be there on that day without any prior notice. When I said that I do not want my daughter to go with him, he wanted to charge me additional $40 for re-scheduling. When I said that he cannot do it.; he very conveniently said ”I make the decisions as I am the owner”. How can he do that when, in fact we did show up for the appointment? Looking back, I'm happy I got the chance to learn under Mr. Vickers' guidance. I still remember his overarching lessons on what it means to be a good driver. He taught me that it's important to be "defensive" because we can't control the external forces around us. He also taught me to use the "push-pull" steering technique, in which I still use it every day because I argue it's the safest way to control your turns. Oh! To people who are scared of parallel parking, Mr. Vickers really boosted my confidence in passing that part with flying colors. Lastly, he taught me to look "far ahead" because it's a good tactic to be fully aware of everything on the road. On the other hand, I would say there are some parts where students need to be patient and empathetic. Mr. Vickers is a solo on everything, yet it doesn't hinder that fact that he cares about a student's ability to be a decent, defensive driver. Ultimately, I would recommend people to attend his class. With me, I successfully passed the test on my first try and made a 100 on the written test. Excellent instructor, down to earth,approachable,positive,calm, very patient and great teaching skills. He actually takes interest in teaching his students to drive safely rather than just having them pass a test. I had a very apprehensive approach towards driving but he quickly turned it into a enjoyable and confident one. Highly recommend Mr.Vickers. Read Less

When signing up Mr Vickers was very pleasant and i was excited to have my son start. He seemed stern and by the book which i liked and felt my 17 year needed. However once enrolled Mr Vickers was not as nice, it was also very inconvenient having to "schedule" driving sessions with him as they were up to 2 weeks apart. On one occasion, Mr Vickers overbooked a driving session and LEFT my son outside of his building and locked the doors because my son forgot his permit and had on flip flops. He then told us we would have to pay $35 on the next driving session because my son forgot his permit! Keep in mind... Mr Vickers had already over booked the driving class so my son would not have been able to drive ANYWAY! I was very disappointed overall. Totally UNRELIABLE, and a complete joke. I made an appointment for them to teach me, and take me to the DPS for my driving test. Two hours to my driving test, I arrived at Riverstone Driving Academy as scheduled, but there was nobody there. I called Mr. Vicker's phone, only for him to tell me he forgot he had another student at the same time. He requested that I wait for him, but HE NEVER SHOWED UP. 1. He confirmed my appointment but didn't keep to it. 2. He didn't have the courtesy to let me know ahead of time if his availability changed 3. He made me wait for him BUT STILL DIDNT SHOW UP. I had to find a last minute alternative. So if I was totally dependent on him to instruct me to my driving test, I would have missed it and would have had to wait several weeks to get a new driving test appointment with DPS. He finally called me 15 minutes before my driving test with a lousy apology, but how does that solve the fact that he left me stranded?? The tackiness at this driving school is unbelievable. I could not have asked for a worse experience. Mr. Vickers showed up late to all 7 lessons (from being about 30 minutes late to about an hour and a half late). He is a very rude and aggressive person and does not have a personality at all conducive to teaching. I felt very uncomfortable driving with him, and there were several close calls where I almost crashed as a result of his constant yelling - I simply couldn't concentrate. Of course, he blamed all of these near-accidents on me afterwards. One incident that stands out in particular is when we were at a yellow light. He told me to keep on driving, even though I had ample room to stop, and then blamed me for going through when the light changed to red. He then said that he would be getting a ticket in the mail, as there were cameras at that intersection (there most assuredly weren't). I also did not receive the state-mandated additional seven hours of observation (that we paid for). There was only one lesson where Mr. Vickers actually had me sitting in the car observing another student driving for the hour per lesson required. After all this, he had the nerve to ask me to leave him a five star review at the end of practically every lesson. It is a miracle that Mr. Vickers got me driving at all. I would have left a one star rating with no hesitation if I hadn't passed my driving test. Read Less

Mr Vickers it the best driving instructor I've ever seen. He say you will pass and you will with the way he teaches. I did excellent on my driving test and passed first attempt. I definitely recommend this school for learning to drive if your taking classroom or road practice. Read Less

Mr Vickers was a very good teacher and explained the full prices of driving piece by piece. He really helped me become a better driver and understand all there is to know. I strongly recommend riverstone driving academy to those looking to learn to drive the correct and safe way.Read Less

I must say coming to riverstone driving academy, was a awesome experience. I loved the hands on learning we were offered outside of class by our instructor and if i could i would do it all over again. The teacher is wonderful and you would be missing out if you don't sign up youself or your children. Read Less
