Really regret signing our daughter up here. They are so overbooked with students that it takes over a month to get her in for a single driving lesson. Her first lesson they didn't even let her drive because they had overbooked it so she just had to watch other students. Calling the corporate office I was informed that they don't share resources with other locations, so if we wanted to get her into another location for a driving lesson we wouldn't be able to get her scheduled at the old location anymore. I strongly urge looking at other driving schools that let you schedule at multiple locations. Our daughter has been "going" to this driving school for almost six months and still barely understands how to drive because there are so few lessons available. As for the instructors, her classroom instructor was nearly always late. I see that there are some bad reviews I don't know why I love this please I was student here and took my drivers test here at the Bandera location and Passed . I felt very comfortable with the instructor's they made me feel like they wanted to help me. They even buy us food on the last day of our class session. I was really excited to start driving lessons but was only disappointed with this school. I had prepaid for in-car lessons.. My lesson was supposed to be today but I never heard from my instructor. I had to call the school to find out why my instructor never showed up to our lesson. Only then do I find out that the instructor was not able to make it because she had to take her son to the doctor that morning. My issue isn't that she had to take her son to the doctor. No that is understandable, life happens. My issue is that she was never given my number and so was unable to contact me to let me know she wasn't going to make it. Nor did the school make any effort to contact me either. This just shows how poorly coordinated the school is and their lack of communication between staff. I should not have had to call the school to find out she wasn't able to make it. A no show appointment is unacceptable, especially if it was prepaid. They require prepayment to make sure I attend the appointment they reserved for me. I expect the same from them. Someone should have called me. When I prepay, I expect service to be delivered. Let me start by saying that I had been struggling to get my license for about two years for a number of reasons.  The person I had been learning from wasn't the best teacher.Once their car didn't pass inspection. We were late once. Tried to get a rental once but I couldn't drive it.  My work got in the way once. ((((*｡_｡)_    Anyway I decided to just find a driving school to rent a vehicle from. I called around and it seemed like no one was in that business. I was hopeless until someone suggested Austin Driving School.  ( ﾟ∀(・－・)    I called them up and they gave me a quote. They gave me a day to think about it. I really appreciated that. I called back the next day, paid over the phone, and discussed the details of my road test appointment.    The day of the test the instructor arrived exactly when they said they would. We had a 45 minute lesson.  They took me almost the exact route I went during the test. They went over all the key maneuvers including parallel parking, which is something that I've never done successfully before.  They encouraged me a lot.   ( ^ -)人(^_^ )    The whole time they were very patient with me and attentive.  The whole process was pretty much stress free. I do have one gripe. The phone number for that location in Google Maps goes to the main office in Austin rather than the office here.  ｢(ﾟo ﾟ)     So, in conclusion, it was well worth it.  And, I am a very satisfied customer. I signed up for the adult driving classes with Austin driving school just recently and my experience was excellent......my driving instructor Mrs.Esther was great she went out of her way to make sure I passed my driving test and indeed I did....so I recommend her as a instructor and this driving school. Either this place is under new management or I got massively lucky because my experience was nothing like these other posts. I signed up for the six-hour adult behind-the-wheel lessons about three weeks ago. I took one lesson a week and used the fourth lesson to take my driving test yesterday. And I passed. And I was basically starting from scratch. They key for me was PRACTICING between lessons. I didn't have any problems with scheduling or smells or any of that. After several years of taking their defensive driving course, I will no longer recommend this driving school. I contacted their office on Wed to find out when next DD course would be. Told this Sat from 8:30 to 2:00. Cost $25 for both insurance discount & ticket dismissal. Asked if we need to pre-register & told no, just show up by 8:15. Husband & son took off from work so we could all attend. Get there & told to sign in on 2 different forms & fill out the 3rd form. Turns out there is no DD class & according to the instructor there hasn't been in years. She makes a call only to tell me again there is no DD class. My husband walks out & she makes a rude remark while I'm standing there. I ask her for the phone number & she tells me it's on the outside of the building. Just how hard would it have been for her to tell me the number. Did she apologize for their incompentency, NO! I call the driving school to be put on hold for 15 min & I have to call back as I'm on terminal hold. They have no clue why I was told there was a DD class this Sat. They have to have at least 3 people for a class which we were 3 people. They will call me Monday to see if they can hold a class next Sat. I am not holding my breath . Oh, the instructor did offer their video course at $42 each. That must be because the video is much more informative. I don't know why they even bother to advertise Defensive Driving. If your child has no experience driving, this school is not the place for them. The driving instructor told my teenager she should already have been practicing at home with her driving. I paid these idiots over $400 for class and driving instruction. Also, you have to wait until it's convenient for the school to sign you up for driving. It's a 1st come 1st serve basis. To top it off the staff at Bandera Rd are very rude and unprofessional. One day, a staff member was being very rude to a student. I could go on and on with a list of complaints.Read Less

I went there when I was 16, and when we would do something wrong, like not look when crossing a intersection the/my instructor would smack me on the leg but I'm a guy, so i did not think of anything, but that was 4,1/2 years ago. before all the church dudes and Michael Jacksons got to look out for people like that. :( Read Less

I signed up for their Driver's Education course but decided to quit after two days. The quality of their classroom instruction was absolutely poor. They had a policy at the time, stating, "You have three days to quit a course for any reason, and we will refund your money in full." Well, I did exactly that; however, they didn't refund my money. They technically stole over $300 from me. That says a lot about their character. I will never send any of my children to learn to drive here. There are other schools in San Antonio which are much better and more honest. I was robbed out of over $300! Never will I recommend them to anyone ever again. Read Less

I went in to sign up driving school and the girl at the counter was very rude. I asked her questions about a certain class and her answer conflicted with what was on the website. I asked her why it conflicted and she said "Lady, I dont' have any idea, I have never seen the website, this is just how it is!" Meanwhile during this exchange there was a man at the desk having a loud phone converstion. He was stating over and over, "I didn't hit her, I would never do anything like that! I swear I didn't hit her" hmmmmm I don't know what that was about, but between him and the rude girl at the counter I took my business elsewhere! Read Less
