Whatever you do, DO NOT book with Kelly. From the moment I stepped into the car, I knew it was going to be a rough two hours.
It all started when she got impatient with me while I was trying to figure out how to position the seat. Since it was a car I was unfamiliar with, I had to take a moment to get used to the mechanisms. She was very condescending and impatient while I was trying to adjust everything to my needs.
The rest of the drive was decently smooth, but if you are very new to driving, I would imagine it to be a nightmare. Then came uphill and downhill parking, which I thought I understood: uphill, wheels away from the curb; downhill, toward the curb. Right? WRONG! I understood the idea and gave her the right answer at first, but then she started asking me why I would do that. I replied the best I could based on my understanding, but it felt like no matter what I said, it was never what she was looking for. The way she asked her questions just confused me more, even though I already understood the original goal.
She made me feel dumb, which seems to be a common trend among other reviews concerning her. Dealing with her questions is like being on a game show where every question is, “What am I thinking right now?”
It was terrible. At one point, I just couldn’t take it anymore and broke down due to her horrific attitude. I was basically crying while driving for the last 30–40 minutes, which is extremely unsafe, by the way but she didn’t care at all. Not that I expected her to comfort me or stop the drive, but she didn’t even acknowledge it. Maybe that’s their protocol, I don’t know.
Towards the end of the drive, I noticed she tried redeeming herself by striking up conversation, but the damage was done. This lady should not be dealing with teenagers or any other human being trying to learn absolutely anything, for that matter.
Kelly has plenty of bad reviews with similar themes of condescension, passive aggression, and making students cry. A1 hasn’t done anything about it. I found reviews dating back a year ago describing almost my exact situation safe to say she hasn’t changed. So it seems like she’s there to stay, so beware. Read Less
