Glen was great with my nervous daughter and Emily was also fantastic helping her go over the maneuvers on the test multiple times (especially parallel parking!). Chuck was her last drive and he made her uncomfortable with some of his comments and tactics. He also didn’t listen to her when she said she did NOT want to do freeway driving. I understand that she will eventually need freeway practice and I have a system of getting that done with my kids, but it is not on the driving test so I do not understand forcing someone to drive on the freeway when they are not yet comfortable. Overall my experience has been positive, though. The main office gal is very helpful and understanding. The written testing people in the Cottonwood Heights office were all super good and encouraging and the driving instructors (for the most part) did a great job teaching and creating a sense of competence for my son (2 years ago) and now my daughter. I honestly loved working with A-1. The online course made it easy to go at my own pace, and the sections were simple but covered everything I needed. Getting drive times can be a little tricky at first, but once I figured out they release them at certain times (and that you can grab canceled spots), it was no problem. I finished the coursework in about a month — which I could’ve gone faster, but I took it slow. I usually did 2–3 sections a day, and it flew by. By the time I wrapped up, I felt completely ready for the permit test. I went in, took it, and scored 100%. From there, I scheduled all my practice drives within the same month (from the 5th to the 26th). My first two were with Glen P, and he was awesome, he super straightforward and even told me some stories that helped calm my nerves. Now I’m all set to go with a third-party tester for my final road test, and then I’ll be on the road! The whole process was really smooth, and I loved how quickly I was able to get it done. Read Less
