This driving school is so unorganized! They're so cheap and just care about the money. I scheduled my drive one day and I also had class so I got there early and it was locked. So I waited and they finally opened. I went in and tried to go to my drive and they said my drive wasn't scheduled. Which was a lie because I was there when the guy scheduled it and confirmed with me. So I scheduled it the next day and I was calm. The next day I showed up about 10-15 minutes late and they said I had to reschedule. So I did later that day. They gave me a warning if I showed up late they were going to charge me. The instructor was 15 minutes late! How is it that I'm 15 minutes late and they can't take me and they couldfine me but if they're late it's no big deal. The fines are a lot for every little thing. Plus you have to go to every class or you have to make it up. They made me make mine up in federal way (30 mins from me) because I couldn't attend once due to an appt.this driving school is so unresponsible and I regret this school! This is the best driving school ever! My teen really learned a lot from them due to their very knowledgeable and very kind driving instructors. Everyone at this school is top notch...from the person at the front desk to all the instructors. Patti is the manager and she gets to know each of the students personally and really encourages reluctant drivers and tries to put them at ease. My son passed his driving test on the first try. Take your training there; you won't be disappointed. Also, don't forget to sign up for "SkidMonster" -- my son said it was a total highlight of his driver's ed experience. Read Less

Wish I can give this 0 stars. My son is 16 and needs to take his drivers licence . You can pay online and then schedule to take the written. We left messages 3 different times to set up a time for my son to take his written. What a joke this place is. I paid the money online and left 3 messages and have not heard back from them. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND JUST GO TO THE DMV ! I need to contact paypal and get my money back. Read Less

Rude-condescending-unprofessional. 'Standard practice' is refunds are processed in 5 weeks even if they cancelled a class. You must call multiple times to receive your refund-the staff tell you everyone else has lied to you-not connect you with the appropriate person-change their stories to why the refund wasn't issued. The owner, who calls himself a preacher, sends a rude email saying you are impatient and he cannot apologize for his staff or your experience. WOW!Update: After seeing that I reviewed his company online, 'the preacher' sent a follow up email saying "something awful must be happening in my life to review them so poorly." I don't understand how such flowery ""positive"" people can rant like that in such a tone, but it seems way overgeneralized. Especially since my experience was solid and good, not great, i don't remember my drivers ed being graet anyway but Northstar has been around 5 years and gave all me kids good solid instruction and they keep getting better. I've talked to the owner personally and he was open to hearing some ideas about the crew answering calls and I can see how he's taken steps to improve upon the services like with scheduling itself!!! Funny-- your at the light, late, calling while IN the car and in a hurry, so what's so ""rude and uncaring"" about the girl you talked to? Wheres the other instructor going? what I see is a bypolar driver trhing to get her kid somewhere and messing up so takes something overly personal and has to generalize. But hey Im just a construction worker trying to make a living in a hurry too. I liked Richie and what he had to say positively always encouraging my kids when they drove SO THEY could learn through better reinforcement. We got all our drives, tho a couple times durring summer it got busy so it was drawn out a few months. In the end we got their certificates, two are driving great. NorthStar Driving Academy is the WORST!!!!! DO NOT USE Northstar Driving! They are horribly disorganized, rude & incompetent. The office staff are unbelievably condescending and ultra rude. We experienced them scheduling drives for the wrong times and leaving without students when we were in contact with them waiting at the stop light trying to turn into the parking lot... we were 3 minutes behind schedule due to the traffic lights and they left without my students. The secretary at the office is rude and uncaring with no customer service what so ever! This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. My son's and I liked one of the instructors ""A woman"". The office people are horrible and if the owner does not hire more competent customer service oriented staff he will not have a business! Read Less
