Skagit City Trucking School is the best CDL school in the state in my humble opinion. Put in the work. Show up for class. Study hard. Be involved. This is not a skill you learn by osmosis; you need to actively participate and study the material. I loved my instructors, had a great time with my fellow classmates, and we all felt prepared to pass the CDL test. If you're thinking about attending class, do it!

one of the best schools to learn from. the instructors are all amazing and very understanding. they are very flexible on schedules as long as you put in the effort. I would go back if I had to ever recertify. they all have a great sense of humor especially Christian, making it an enjoyable time. I want to give a special mention and thanks to bill a.k.a, soul crusher, whos guidance and incite helped put me in and get me through the tougher parts of the training.

The other reviews are dead on accurate-this place is phenomenal. Safety at the forefront and just amazing instructors that will build you from the ground up while introducing you to multiple driving styles and theories.
If you can- pick up the driving manual(it’s free) and utilize the many apps/websites to try and get your permit before class starts. If you are able to do this they will have you working pre trip inspection and most likely driving on the first day.
Don’t wallflower, mesh with your classmates and use each other to strengthen your “weak” areas and by the end of the program you will be more than ready. If you want the best training around and to learn from some damn good people this is the place!

Had a fantastic experience at Skagit City Truck School, I just passed my CDL A test on the first try. Great instructors and lots of time behind the wheel will prepare you for test day. Special thanks to the owner Joe and his awesome team: Mike, Ed, Tom, Bill, Jim, and Christian (sorry if I forgot anyone). I would highly recommend this truck school to anyone who wants to aquire any class of CDL!

I have truly enjoyed going to this school! The teachers are patient, adapt to your learning style, and have a way to calm your nerves. I have never touched a manual, and they taught me how to drive and pass my tests in a manual truck. Ed, Rhonda, and Sherrill are the best teachers I’ve had. And Mr. Joe is an amazing owner! Answered any questions I had and was kind with any mess ups I had.
10/10, I would recommend!

Joe has the experience of working with the "big boys" and the heart of a sole proprietor trucker. He knows about interstate and trans-boundary regulations as well as the operations side of terminals. ...
Joe has the experience of working with the "big boys" and the heart of a sole proprietor trucker. He knows about interstate and trans-boundary regulations as well as the operations side of terminals. There's a reason for the school's high rating by the state vocational system; it's called integrity, and it's the foundation of the business.

This school is the best. You get Hands-On training one on one training and everything you need to know and do to get your class A or B. I highly recommend this place.

Awesome school!!! Instructors/staff and owner are all great teachers and very approachable with any type of issue. They are also to work around your schedule if needed and never leave a student behind...
Awesome school!!! Instructors/staff and owner are all great teachers and very approachable with any type of issue. They are also to work around your schedule if needed and never leave a student behind.
It is also great that they can make a judgement call when a student is a SAFETY hazard to the public. But they will work with him, to get him good to go. I saw it for my self in my class. All the instructors have great ways to help you get the information and will work individually with you if needed. Great acronyms and different ways to slow you down to make a shift and not grind gears. Safety and you getting your CDL is their number 1 concern.
I would and will recommend the school to anyone.

I can't say enough about everyone at this school. From (Sexy Biatch) Joe and Office Queen Katie (thanks for putting up with me) to Instructors Jim, Bill, Darrell and Charles, you can't ask for a better bunch of people to deal with...especially when it comes to getting you an education. Each of the instructors has their own unique methods of getting the information through to you so that you'll actually understand what you're doing when you get out into the 'real world'. They ...all demonstrate incredible amounts of patience (well, some moreso than others...haha) and seem to genuinely care about your future. In addition to the outstanding instruction they provide, you're also offered many 'insider' tips on the job market which is invaluable information! There are also frequent visits from recruiters representing many of the top trucking companies in the country. Katie has the office running like a well oiled machine and is very approachable, knowledgable and really friendly (oops...don't tell her I said that). She helped me with my VA paperwork and pretty much handled it all. This place loves VETS!! Thanks again to everyone at Skagit City Trucking School...you guys ROCK! See More

Skagit City Trucking School is the best CDL school in the state in my humble opinion. Put in the work. Show up for class. Study hard. Be involved. This is not a skill you learn by osmosis; you need to actively participate and study the material. I loved my instructors, had a great time with my fellow classmates, and we all felt prepared to pass the CDL test. If you're thinking about attending class, do it!

The other reviews are dead on accurate-this place is phenomenal. Safety at the forefront and just amazing instructors that will build you from the ground up while introducing you to multiple driving styles and theories.

I have truly enjoyed going to this school! The teachers are patient, adapt to your learning style, and have a way to calm your nerves. I have never touched a manual, and they taught me how to drive and pass my tests in a manual truck. Ed, Rhonda, and Sherrill are the best teachers I’ve had. And Mr. Joe is an amazing owner! Answered any questions I had and was kind with any mess ups I had.
