He was always on time and progression was good. I understand that I made mistakes at times but how the instructor dealt with this was not appropriate in my opinion. As a learner driver, you are not going to be perfect from the moment you sit in the drivers seat. He knew that I was nervous and have had a bad experience in the past, but I felt this was not acknowledged at all.
He shouted at me and would often use the steering wheel and used the dual controls without giving me a reason as to why. Sometimes, he would completely ignore my questions or respond in a dismissive or rude tone. He was not very friendly and not someone I would recommend as a nervous *learner* driver. I would advise you to search around an instructor that fits your needs rather than going with the one that fits your availability straight away. Make sure you are comfortable with them and not be scared they will shout at you if you make mistakes, because ultimately you are paying a lot to learn nowadays.
Thanks for everything though, as I said progression was good and I feel as if I have learnt something to take to the next instructor who I will throughly research next time.

Tony has been 100% professional, commited and focused on my learning the entire time. Every lesson i have progressed. He knows the what, where, when and how of everything to do with driving. I can honestly and entirely recommend cals driving school to anybody who may be on the fence about picking up that phone and booking a lesson. Furthermore as a student you must be 100% willing and commited to learning to achieve the desired result of being a safe, legal and knowledgeable driver. Thanks again tony on the pass result...

I took him out and he’s a good and confident driver. I dont feel that he progresses learners as quickly as he should. The comments from others are definitely aligned to what my son has said We’ve booked a test for august and I’ll take him out until then. We have just had a message to say he can’t give lessons for 4-6 months, no alternative number for an instructor at all. I do hope he’s not I’ll but at least try to source another instructor number for your pupils

Tony was my driving instructor 6 years ago. I still remember the lessons and they weren’t very nice. He told me that I will take much longer to learn how to drive than the others. Fair enough - I really was bad and I could never relax and lacked confidence, made stupid mistakes, etc. So i changed a driving instructor - first two hours in her car - boom - she tells me why aren’t I taking my driving test. There was nothing wrong with my driving, I had a great control over the car and I passed two months after at my first go. Tony can be very moody and passive aggressive. He tries to be polite but it just shows in the tone of his voice and his body language. Sorry Tony if you read this, but I think your teaching style is distracting. Saying out loud the whole routine of signalling, mirrors, etc...never worked for me for any manoeuvres. So for some people Tony might be okay, but he wasn’t a for for me. I am not saying he is bad, but his style never suited me. If you don’t like your driving instructor, change him/her.

He was always on time and progression was good. I understand that I made mistakes at times but how the instructor dealt with this was not appropriate in my opinion. As a learner driver, you are not going to be perfect from the moment you sit in the drivers seat. He knew that I was nervous and have had a bad experience in the past, but I felt this was not acknowledged at all.

Tony was my driving instructor 6 years ago. I still remember the lessons and they weren’t very nice. He told me that I will take much longer to learn how to drive than the others.
