Highly recommend. Everything was professional and easy to schedule. Dillon was an excellent instructor. He very easygoing, supportive and clear when explaining things, which helped my daughter feel comfortable and confident while driving. She ended up passing her driving test and we’re very grateful for the great instruction. Overall great experience with them. Read Less

Absolute best driving company I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. My driver Dillon was an excellent teacher and drove an hour each way for all of my lessons. He will teach you very well, and leave you feeling more than prepared for the behind the wheel test. The owner Sarah was extremely kind and knows how to make her customers happy, and feel like family. I will without a doubt happily refer her to friends and family, and highly recommend the American Driving academy to anyone who need to fulfill their driving lesson needs. Read Less

I passed my driver's exam on the first try!!! I had ZERO experience driving. Ali was very patient and kept pushing me until I got it right. He was able to calm my nerves and keep my focused. I definitely recommend American Driving Academy he knows what he's doing! Read Less

We were so worried when the only appointment available for the behind the wheel test was in Seaside. We had to drive all the way from San Jose for the test. We reached out to American Driving academy and Ali did a great job with my son. He also took him for the driving test. My son did well on the driving test and passed. I definitely recommend them. I took a brush up session of an hour and DMV test after that. The one hour session was quite good as I realized about my several mistakes and critical errors which I was making while driving. Due to this I was able to concentrate good on my test and I finally passed my test. It was my second trial so this brush up session was very helpful for me. Also in DMV he was quite helpful throughout. I would definitely recommend him for this type of brush up session or any other session. Also to mention his car was pretty clean, comfortable and good for taking a DMV test. Read Less

I took 1 hour brush up session and dmv test. And every penny was worth. The guy was insistent on not making even a single mistake during the brush up session and that was actually helpful in the test because I made only 4 minor mistakes and passed with flying colors. We were 3 friends that went together and all of us passed in first try. He gave us all sufficient lessons for an hour of brush up session, he showed all the important things that the dmv people checks during the test, he observed on what point I lacked and gave me more practice of that till I was good enough on it. I would totally recommend him for a driving lesson or brush up lesson or driving test. Read Less

Passed my driving test thanks to Ali! He's very professional and an excellent teacher. I had a 2 hour session with him and he was also nice enough to offer a 50-60 minute practice before my DMV test. I highly recommend him. Read Less

We learned about Ali at American Driving Academy from a friend. He taught all three of her children to drive, and she recommended him highly. Our son had already had quite a bit of instruction from Dad, but he'd never been on the freeway and needed some polishing before the test. Ali was perfect. He suggested a two hour lesson and then indicated that our son was ready to take the test. Not quite feeling ready, our son opted for one more lesson, which included a ride to the DMV for his scheduled test . . . which he passed easily. The instruction was thorough and careful--spot-on preparation for the driving test. We highly recommend Ali at American Driving Academy. Read Less

Terribly terrible! The instructor cancelled my appointments three times without letting me know. The worst thing is, he promised to take me to DMV before my permit got expired but he never showed up that day! I called him the whole morning and waited. Then he just texted me and said he tried to call me?! Now that my permit expired I ask for the refund for the rest of lessons and... no luck. I am still waiting and he never answers my call ever since   I asked him about the refund. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! A total waste of time and money! Read Less

If you want to pass your driving test, come to Ali, Dolly, or other instructors at the Academy of Monterey. They are true experts and just very nice, calm, and caring people. They will be with you for your every step, and will not make you nervous or terrified as your friends and relative might. Very highly recommended. I passed from the first time. Thank you, Dolly! Thank you, Ali! Read Less

The instructors were super friendly. Made an appointment and picked me up the next day. We kept practicing until I got it right. Took my test at the DMV the next week and passed. Now I am officially a California licensed driver! :) also, what caught my attention about this place was that they were one of the cheapest driving schools around! Every other school charged $800 and up and the American Driving Academy was half that for the best quality of classes and behind the wheel practice. THANK YOU AGAIN ALI AND DOLLY!!! You guys are the best, see you on the road ;) Read Less

The instructor was really nice and professional, provided excellent guidance and support throughout the practice! I borrowed the car for the test and passed in my first test! He's also flexible with scheduling too, which is great. The price was average, I think. But for money's worth, the lessons were great! Thank you :) Read Less

Terrible. Like another reviewer, my child had a scheduled appointment and the instructor was an hour late. We decided to ask for a refund and move to another driving school...no luck. I'm still waiting for the refund after being told three time "the check is in the mail". DO NOT RECOMMEND. Read Less

Awful. I made an appointment for driving lessons & they canceled it without letting me know. I rescheduled another appointment, this time the instructor showed up but he was terrible. I let him know that this was my first time driving but it felt like he constantly was yelling at me for ever small mistake whenever he was actually paying attention to me. This made me tense, then he complained about me being so tense & holding on the wheel so tightly, which he constantly grabbed to fix a turn instead of guiding me though it . He was on his cell phone a lot & had me even pull over a few times just so he could talk on the phone. He also had me drive from Marina to Monterey just so he could pick up another instructor & then he took out paperwork & kept on talking to that guy until he had me pull over again. He told me to pull over because that instructor need the car. My instructor went & got another car. When he was pulling the new car out of the driveway, he hit the side of the wall wile backing up & his parallel parking was terrible, which made me loose faith in his driving skills. Read Less

Finding the right driving school was an extremely tiring task, I had dealt with some rude, unexperienced people trying to find a good school to enroll my daughter. Then I Came across American Driving Academy(362 pacific st.), right off when I had called the receptionist was very kind and knowledgeable, I was so confused before and had no idea we had to be enrolled in driver training before going to the dmv, they answered all my questions and we decided to go ahead and register. Next the instructors were great!! My daughter came home from her appointments so proud of herself, and confident, and I definetly saw the difference when we drove together. Not to mention the rates!! Im so happy I chose American Driving Academy, now my kid has her license,is driving safely and has stopped the nagging! THANKS ALOT !!! I highly recommend this school!!Satisfied Customer! Read Less
