My daughter completed her 6 hours behind the wheel with Don last month. He was professional, prompt and always very personable. He really put our nervous daughter at ease! I was very impressed with her driving skills once she got her permit. Don really went above and beyond to accommodate our crazy busy schedule which really showed his dedication to customer service. Open Road is definitely a great choice for your child's driving lessons! Read Less

Our son just completed the 6-hour course with Don. We were extremely pleased with Don's service and professionalism. He dropped all the forms (and picked up the completed ones) in our mailbox - excellent service, highly recommended. Read Less

I went to Don for a few refresher-lessons before my road test, and I never felt more at ease while driving with him. He's literally the coolest guy you will ever meet, and he taught me more in one hour than I EVER learned from Evelyn at Alpine. I aced my road test and I owe it all to Don!!!! Read Less

From first contact, to my stepdaughter's last lesson, Don Willmot and Open Road Driving Academy were professional, punctual and perfect at what they do. My stepdaughter was terrified of driving. She wanted to drive but was extremely tense when Don came to pick her up. By the end of the 6th hour, she was well underway and enjoying the process of learning to drive rather than dreading it. Don's vast experience with beginners and insights into what she was going through, worked in tandem with his creative strategies for helping my stepdaughter conquer fears and begin the process of learning to drive. Don is patient and super reliable. His warm personality puts the student driver at ease early on...First rate! This review should serve as the strongest possible recommendation for Open Road. You will not be disappointed! Read Less

I needed to get my daughter driving lessons to get her permit and then license and we were lucky enough to find Don and Open Road Driving.  I was a nervous wreck about her driving, but Don put my wife and I AND my daughter at ease immediately.  I was comfortable with him and trusted him taking her out on the road.  He was easy to talk to and made my daughter not only chat, but got her comfortable behind the wheel while on side roads and major highways.  He challenged her to do the things she was nervous about and created a very good driver who was very prepared for her test (passed on the first try).It was great that he also managed the paperwork process and getting her to the MVC for testing and getting her license.  We couldn't use either of our vehicles for her test and Don's is perfectly acceptable for testing (the tester needs access to the emergency brake). A word of advice...don't wait until test day to figure out what paperwork you will need for your 6 points of ID.  We've already recommended Don to multiple people and will continue to do so. Hiring Open Road is a 'NO BRAINER!' We called Don on my son's 16 birthday, 1 week later he had his permit in hand and was driving us every where. One year later we called Don again and he ran my son thru a refresher and took him for his road test. He passed the test with no problem. Thank you Open Road!!! My son said, "Mom there is no way I would have passed that test without Don" We've recommended Open Road numerous times and will continue to do so. Plus, we will be hiring him for our next 2 children. Read Less

When you are in search of a driving instructor, you want someone you can trust.  Someone who will be patient with your child, yet make you aware of the child's need to practice.  Don worked with my son and gave him the confidence he needed to drive safely and pass his road test.  I could provide lots of superlatives about his instruction, but I shall simply say that if you are in need of a competent, patient and professional instructor, Don is your man!  Thanks for teaching Josh how to drive.
