I do not recommend this instructor at all. As a new driver, I was already nervous, and instead of creating a supportive environment, Mr. Mackinzie was extremely impatient and made me feel belittled during lessons. The way he spoke to me and handled mistakes increased my anxiety instead of helping me improve. I often left lessons feeling worse about my driving, not better. Driving requires confidence, and his approach did the opposite... it made me second-guess myself and feel uncomfortable behind the wheel. Because of this, I ended up canceling my remaining lessons. I also did not receive a refund for the lessons I canceled, which was very frustrating and added to an already negative experience. What’s important to note is that I was still able to learn and succeed, just not through this instructor. With patient support and practice from my boyfriend, I built my confidence, improved my skills, and ultimately passed my driving test. If you are a nervous or first-time driver, I strongly recommend finding an instructor who is patient, respectful, and actually helps you feel comfortable learning. My son had his driving test here, and I'm SO GLAD we chose this place!! He wasn't comfortable with the people at the DPS office, but his instructor made him feel very welcomed and comfortable.
